Summary: Hell, we hadn't expected him to do it.
It had barely registered that the tiny dark form on top of the building was a person before they had leapt off the roof in a graceful swan dive. The entire crowd shrieked and cheered and hollered--sadistic idiots.
Adrian's girlfriend was screaming, the obnoxiously purple drink in her hand quaking as she gestured wildly. So that was who it was up there.
A girl jarred the beer in my hand, the liquid slopping over my palm. Absently, I wiped the beer away on my pants and waited for the impact, ignoring the unconcerned apology that came from somewhere behind me and to the right. At last, a glorious splash, and the water radiated out into the crowd. A couple of drops spattered across my forehead, stinging as they hit with a force I hadn't quite reckoned on. I laughed with everyone else, because, hell, we hadn't actually expected him to do it, much less succeed, but there Adrian was, dripping from head to toe and hauling himself up the ladder with a smirk on his face that meant someone had bet him a good sum of money that he wouldn't make it out alive.
"Someone get me a beer, will you?" Adrian demanded, squeezing half the pool out of his shirt and onto his feet. "And turn the music back up."
