Rinoa cradled the phone between her shoulder and her cheek and flattened her palm against the page of the Timber Maniacs issue in her lap. "Okay."
"Sorry."
She shrugged, and then remembered that he couldn't see her. "It's alright. I'll try to come up and visit. Or see you whenever you get your next leave."
"Rin--"
"Yeah?" She fiddled with the corner of the page, nails leaving little crescent marks in the glossy surface.
"I might not have leave time for a while." There was an inflection in there that she didn't miss. "You don't have to come up here."
The page in her hand tore slightly.
"What do you mean?"
There was a pause. "I mean, I've got the SeeD exam coming up, you've got the Forest Owls--Look. I'm sorry, Rin. I've got to go."
There was a soft click.
"Seifer?"
