Rome

I couldn't sleep last night, so I got up and turned on the television and there was a dvd workout system infomercial on the channel I turned on. The dvd/system was called, I kid you not, "Yoga Booty Ballet." If you spend money on something called "Yoga Booty Ballet," you deserve to be fat.

I finally got around to watching the last two episodes of Rome's season last night, and I won't go into any spoilers, but, as expected, I really enjoyed the closure. As for my thoughts, I just didn't believe the casting of the actress as Cleopatra. Cleopatra was supposed to be this legendary sultry beauty who used lust and her sensuality to control people around her. Lyndsey Marshal, the actress who plays Cleopatra isn't hot enough to get me to help her move out of her apartment unless I was already friends with her. Not only is she not particularly pretty, she's built roughly like a fourteen year old boy. Aside to chase820 your boy Octavian...we're never going to see eye to eye. Antony deserved to get his ass handed to him for being a drugged out, brow beaten schlub when he should have planning a war, but his mistake was in trying to out weasel the automaton. The only time I found Octavian remotely likable in the entire series so far was when he was helping Pullo with the baby daddy issue. The acting is great, Octavian is played as though all of his knowledge of human interaction was learned from books, and that the only way to make a friend is to buy or blackmail them. I guess that's my problem with the characterization. Octavian brought about a wonderful peace and prosperity in Roman history, and the way this character is played, I cannot imagine anyone being dedicated to him, or willing to follow him.

Happy Good Friday! Two more days and I am back to drinking coffee. I don't know how my UK friends can stand drinking tea all the time. I have been trying, and it just doesn't do it.
