She laughed again at the toast taking a sip of her wine, allowing the taste of it to remind her of the kiss she had against her lips minutes ago. The scent of it filled her nose before she set her glass down at her side. She wasn't even hungry at the moment, probably the butterflies in her stomach taking up whatever space she had thought was there earlier. It didn't even matter really, she'd always gone for a run around midnight and ended up grabbing something from the kitchens, she wasn't too concerned with it at the moment.

Addie suddenly felt a bit restless. It was all the sitting still, or maybe just the actual stillness, but she was getting a bit antsy, which probably made her seem a bit more nervous than she actually was. Pulling herself back away from Jim, which was actually a lot harder for her to do than she anticipated she leaned back, with her palms pressed into the floor, looking up at the stars again.

It really was a perfect night, and she didn't really want to go anywhere but she also didn't want to keep falling into wanting to kiss him. Not that it would be a bad thing, but despite her actual three day weekend, she did want to ensure she had a job to go back to come Monday, and getting caught out there with a fellow officer... one that ranked above her, way above her, probably wasn't exactly a good plan of action.

Still she was content to just sit there, legs stretched out in front of her feet hooked at the ankles, "I feel like I want to go do something, but I have no idea what it should be. I hate that feeling, that there's something out there for me, but I just can't sort out what it is."

At her remark, Jim grinned, stretching out on his back, playfully resting one foot on her knee with a grin as he stared up at the sky, whistling a few bars of a song. When he tipped his head and caught her look, he laughed and quoted the lyric. "We sometimes catch a window...a glimpse of what's beyond. Was it just imagination stringing us along? Neil Peart had the right damn idea."

He paused, growing a bit thoughtful as he connected constellations in his head, calculating travel times to every star mentally, based on distance, speed, and utilization of the stargates.

"It's life." he finally remarked, almost to himself. "That's what you feel." He paused, then smiled slightly. "Freaky, ain't it? Just hovering on the edges, like a guy you owe money to...waiting to collect on yer ass. But that can be good, y'know? Push you to be great. It's like my boy Hank says...'Do not worry if you have built your castles in the air. They are where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.'"

He paused, absently reaching up to scratch his chest, feeling the scar over his heart just beneath the thin material of his t-shirt. He knew there was more scar tissue within...all the places the knife had been, sliding between his ribs to make a play for his heart and missing by only a hairsbreadth the day he'd left the Hounds...

The stab wound there hadn't been what nearly killed him. It was the bloodloss everywhere else.

He shouldn't even be here, having dinner with a beautiful woman and talking about 'his boys'...he still didn't know whether or not he deserved it, either.

Sitting up on his elbows, he narrowed his eyes at his nearby glass of wine. "Now I remember why I stick to beer." he murmured. "Wine always makes me orate."

It probably didn't even matter what he was saying, because all of it would result in Addie's soft laughter that barely parted her lips. She'd tilt her head to the side to regard his expression between sentences, but could probably listen to him rattle off whatever he wanted at that point. There was a newfound calmness to her, which was almost a complete one-eighty from the almost flighty manner she felt like before.

She blamed it, or maybe was thankful that it all came together when Jim's foot rested on her knee. She hadn't given much pause to the thought that it was him that calmed her down, because truthfully she hadn't even thought that a possibility after the kiss they shared nearly put her into arrest.

She had only half of her glass of wine and was glancing at the rest of it, but not really even caring if she finished that either. Sitting up she slipped her legs free from under Jim's and stood up for a moment, thanking the fact that it had been a lovely few leg sturdying moments before she stood up. Her back arched slightly as she stretched out a bit, wiggling her fingers out trying to get every good inch of stretch out of her body.

When she finally relaxed tugging the hem of her shirt down to her waistline again she moved toward Jim, who was either enjoying the view, or just really relaxed, and knelt down next to him, her hips brushing lightly against his, "So earlier, you mentioned something about another kiss before the end of tonight, and you know I'd hate to press my luck and all, but I'm kinda thinking about it, okay not kinda... it's pretty much a constant." Her smile was a quiet smirk, as she leaned into him, bringing her mouth to his again, while her hands folded neatly in her lap.

"Hey, no makin' my legs fall down on your job!" Jim teased as she slid out from beneath his foot. "That's it, young lady, you are fired as my footrest."

He got distracted after a moment, however, watching her stand up and stretch...being human, he found it a rather pleasant distraction, one he wouldn't have minded indulging in longer if she'd seen fit to do other things not fit for polite thought...and therefore custom made for his filthy damn brain.

But when she sat down beside him, he decided he liked that a whole lot better, especially when she leaned down and kissed him again, this time with a lot less aprehension. Smiling against her lips, he kissed her back, one hand coming up to cradle her cheek again, just holding her that way until the kiss finally broke, leaving him more than a little wowed.

"Have I mentioned yet my overwhelming desire to throw you to the ground and ravish you stupid?" he asked brightly, smirking up at her. "Because it's definitely a thought, yeah..."

Her laughter wasn't so soft this time, and it made her nose crinkle up slightly as her hand went to her forehead brushing hairs away from her face that actually weren't there at all. "Actually I think you're exact words were that I was abulously, stupendously, gorgeously fuckable, which I think should fall into the 'to the ground and ravage' category easily." She shook her head still laughing a bit, but not really at him, but more just the circumstances.

"So, this was the big plan right? Lure me out here, wine me, kiss me, and then ravage me?" Her tongue ran across her upper teeth again before she smiled, her tongue catching slightly between her teeth. "I'd say if I wasn't such an honorable girl I'd have fallen for it, hook, line and sinker."

He was still wearing that smirk and she couldn't even help herself at this point as she leaned in to kiss him again, letting her hand run through his hair again, slightly grabbing onto what she could at the back of his neck, while her other hand went across his shoulders pulling him into her a bit. When she pulled away still close to him she smirked back at him narrowing her eyes, "See, I'm far too honorable for a man such as yourself."

Oh, God...she wasn't doing that. She was *not* doing that sucking on her teeth, tongue just poking out her mouth like a little kid thing, because that was just too damn cute. What was with her and the cute? And him with the liking it?

And yet her wisecrack his a little too close to home...but only because it was true. For a moment, he imagined he could feel the flaming bulldog on his forearm...heavy, weighing him down...weighing everything down.

She was so sweet...and cute...and military. And *really* cute. She probably was too good for a fucked up jerk like him...still, it was only a date, right? And...well...damn it, she was so freakin' *cute*...

"If you knew how true that was?" he teased after she kissed him again, sitting up on his elbows this time to get closer. "You probably *would* slap me. Then I'd have a free ride to *actually* say just how fabulously, stupendously, gorgeously fuckable you look."

He paused, then smirked. "So!" he went on brightly. "What else can I say or do to incite more of that kissing? Because it'd be improper to maul you like that, but you mauling me? *Totally* allowed. Miss Manners says so and everything."

Addie was trying her hardest to not give into pretty much everything swimming around in her head. She knew how long it had been, and she knew how good it felt to kiss Jim, stranger or not it was still good, very good. Watching him ease up onto his elbows and rattle into the general compliments that were laced with all sorts of inappropriateness that she was actually used to by now. He reminded her of Milos when he brought his prom date home to meet Father. The poor thing standing out in the foyer while the whole family discussed her in the kitchen before Milos finally brought her flower out to place onto her wrist. The comments Addie at the time thought were harmless, until she was asked to prom. The thought of being in someone's foyer while the rest were in the kitchen forced her hand. She said no, and instead just waited until David was old enough to go. By then though, no one stayed in the kitchen to wait with him, except Addie. She tried her hardest to make a comment to make him feel like he belonged too, but she failed at that.

JR would have fit into her family better than her own brother, which was a bit odd to think of after kissing him. In fact she made a choice to not think of that again, ever.

Instead she let leaned over, letting her hands rest on opposite sides of his hips hands pressed to the ground while her forearms brushed against his arms. "Hmmm... to maul, or not to maul... that is quite the predicament isn't it. I mean I should have known the trouble you were going to be, almost self professed as well. Still I can't help but be drawn in... quite a predicament indeed."

Something had changed in Aedeline since kissing JR the second time, because it was almost like a floodgate had been opened. All the femininity that she usually didn't rely on purely for the weakness factor was getting pressed up to her, and making her rather flirty, more than she usually allowed too. In the back of her mind she figured they'd already kissed so there wasn't any more harm in whatever other thoughts she had.

She was really close to him too, laced against him but not actually touching, and she could almost taste the wine on his mouth, even though she had a good few inches between them.

"You know I don't think you could hold out anyway, I should put you out of your misery Jim Riley," her eyes drifted to his mouth before she kissed him again, closing whatever gap had been placed between them letting her body press to his gently.

"Hey, it's like my boys in the Lizzy said...I got a bad reputation." Jim smirked as she leaned over him, gazing into her face to try and get a read on her. She was feeling pretty bold, he could read that in her body language...unusually bold, and female. He liked that...and felt kinda good that he was making her feel that way.

And now she was nearly on top of him, close enough to touch...and touching he could get behind. He could *definitely* get behind the touching.

Then she was kissing him again and she was *there*...body pressed to his, and God it felt good. With a soft groan, he reached up to wrap an arm around her waist, the other going to her hair again as he kissed her, slow and deep, savoring her closeness. She felt so goddamn good in his arms...and other places...but holding her was just...perfect.

Jim finally managed to break the kiss, laughing softly. "Hey...hey, this here's blowing my mind in all kinds of ways," he gasped, grinning up at her with a hint of seriousness in his features, "but honestly? This is going a little fast, and..." he trailed off, holding her gaze as he swept her hair back gently, "...I know this ain't you. Not your norm. If you're lookin' for a good time tonight, I'm MORE than willing...but I want to know you're sure."

He paused, leaning up to steal one more kiss. "Plus? I know the spread here's real pretty, but the spread's the only thing I'm spreadin' here, know what I mean? If you wanna...y'know...we go back to your place or mine, 'kay?"

Addie had been slightly out of character, but truth be told Aedeline never would have kissed him first either, she would have just left that night feeling stupid the next morning for not giving into what she now knew was amazing. However she told herself that she needed to stop worrying about the consequences so much and actually start dealing the the situations instead. She was taking this situation very much head on, and actually felt okay about it, more than okay, she felt right about it. The way he kissed her back made her damn sure that it wasn't anything wrong.

When he pulled away shoving her own doubts back at her she had a slight pout that she was trying to fight back, because pouting surely wasn't something that Addie did... ever. She was stealing small chaste kisses between his sentences which probably was making his feeble arguements almost silly sounding, but still she was trying to assure him more than herself in fact. Addie had resolve in her heart at the moment, and regardless of whatever was the norm for her it didn't seem to matter.

She pulled back from him, still keeping close enough to kiss him between her own words, for the simple reason that she suddenly couldn't figure out why she hadn't been kissing him since she had gotten there.

"This isn't my norm, but to be honest," she paused for a stolen kiss, "I don't even think I have a norm. The last time was a long time ago," and another that might have lasted a teeny bit longer than she anticipated, "and the norm for me? Isn't as fun as this is. So I think," her lips part softly this time catching his bottom lip lightly in her teeth before pulling away again, "which is requiring not a lot of thought at the moment, that we should perhaps go somewhere else."

Jim hated his laugh, so he usually tried to hide it beneath a lower, more normal sounding chuckle he favored, or a raucous cackle that was usually very deliberate.

But with Addie drowning him in kisses, stealing a peck between almost every word he said, he couldn't stop the very real, high-pitched giggle that escaped him, one that did not match a man of his demeanor, not to mention look and size.

But she was agreeing...and it was sincere. That much he could tell.

Grinning, Jim cradled her cheek in one large hand, fingers half-wrapping around the back of her neck as he finally allowed himself the luxury of kissing her the way he really wanted to...deep and lingering, and hard. Not enough to hurt, but enough to just *take* her all in...draw her tongue into his mouth, let his own explore hers...breathe her scent, feel her soft lips against his...

Jim finally broke the kiss, still grinning. "My place or yours, Dimples?" he breathed huskily, shifting to lean in playfully and blow a raspberry against her neck.

That laugh of his was pure and she couldn't help but smile into his kiss when she heard it, and then his kiss was so much more than what it had been moments earlier. His hands in her hair, and everything about it made her shut her eyes and sink right into it all. If she had fallen for him just for the kisses earlier, she was bought and paid for by now.

When he pulled away that slight inward gasp came out of nowhere and she startled herself, her eyes bright and clear for a moment before his mouth pressed to her neck in a silly moment stirring a fit of laughter from her, that actually hinted the first sign that she ever had an accent that wasn't from the midwest. She bit her lower lip for a moment as he pulled back to look at her again.

She knew her quarters weren't exactly clean, but they weren't a disaster either, and her quarters were hers, not hers and her brothers... not that they were there, but still it was her room and she didn't share. If Mike was there...

Addie figured she was going to risk the slight clutter of her own room, to gain privacy, "Mine, though I swear I am hardly in there long enough to notice most of the clutter. I have it planned to do laundry tomorrow, and clean. So... just pretend not to notice."

Jim grinned, allowing her to get up before he stood and within about two minutes, had packed away everything he'd set up, leaving it off to one side. The food would keep in the cool air, and no one ever came here anyway. He wasn't waiting any longer than he had to to get Addie alone.

At her crack about her place, he grinned and came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her against him, kissing her neck before blowing another raspberry against her skin to hear her laugh again, lightly urging her forward so they walked along with him still behind her. "Hey, no sweat. You'll see if you ever come to my quarters...there's literally a line down the middle of our room where my clothes end and clean floor begins."

She probably hadn't felt this comfortable in her own skin in a while, and if all it took was necking in the observatory she might try to get out there a bit more often. She felt him behind her nudging her foward with his mouth to her neck again getting that laughter from her once more.

She leaned back against him a bit her hands reaching behind herself and him to latch onto his back as she walked, almost oddly down the hall listening to him try to ease her fear over the state of affairs in her quarters. She wasn't sure she liked that he said 'if you ever' because she was leading this guy to hers, and had every intention of not being 'one of those girls' but that was a consequence and she was willing to take it if it meant having one night that felt as good as she did when he kissed her.

"Hmmm... well I'm not to that point, not yet at least. I just tend to be a drop everything and go girl." Which caused her to laugh a bit since it seemed that was her motto of the evening. She was all forget the rest of the date lets get naked and sweaty, which wasn't like her at all, but she suddenly wondered if that wasn't just her old habits trying to sneak up on her.

The rounded the corner and she brought her hand up to wave the door open, as she stood up fully and moved into her room, with him behind. She kicked the dropped shirt from when she changed over toward the closet, and did a once over for other garments that could be embarrassing but didn't spot anything. It wasn't that bad, and at least her bed was actually made that morning. She hadn't had anyone really in her quarters before, well Ronon once but that was to grab something and then go, and McKay had dropped by once, but hovered instead of coming in.

She wanted to say something, to make it even more awkward, but instead she just went with her instincts. Tugging her shoes off and moving toward him she peeled her shirt off over her head and let her arms lace up around his shoulders pulling him down toward her so she could pick up with the kissing that she had already become slightly addicted to.

"Well that I knew." Jim smirked at her remark about the kind of girl she was. "You got a habit of cinching your belt too tight by a notch...indicates you rush, meaning you probably get so hurried you drop things where you stand. Like me."

When they reached her quarters, Jim let her go long enough to move away and toe off her shoes...and peel off her shirt. It gave him enough time for a three second look around before the sight of her distracted him, meaning he only got to see about one quarter of the place before he was pointing out in his own mind more than a half a dozen spots on her back that he might start the nibbling at...screw her toes, that little indentation by her spine would be good...or the slope at the small of her back...

Then she was in his arms again and kissing him some more, and it just kept getting better all the time...

Grinning against her lips, Jim broke the kiss again. "Now how is this shit right here even remotely fair?" he teased, kissing the tip of her nose, then her forehead playfully. "You're already half-naked and I still got all my goddamn clothes on. You tell me...how can any of the *really* good groping go down if we leave that situation unattended? I ask you?"

Without waiting for an answer, he peeled his t-shirt off over his head, the ever-present St. Jude medal momentarily caught in the fabric before falling back against his chest again. Dropping his shirt, he reached out and hooked a finger in one of her belt loops, drawing her close again.

"Much better...don't ya think?" he smirked, bending down to kiss her again.

"So are you going to do that all the time? The point things out to me thing, or am I going to have to keep you busy so that you have other things racing through that mind of yours?" She shook her head slightly speaking between kisses, and when she felt him smile into her mouth she couldn't help but smile back as he pulled away. The placement of a kiss on the tip of her nose and forehead were sweet and endearing to her, the removal of his clothing and the playful tug of her jeans were just sexy.

Her feet stumbled small steps until she was pulled up against him, his arms lacing back around her, returning to kiss her with a smirk still on his lips. She liked feeling his skin against hers, the warmth of his body, the cold of metal as it dragged slowly across her flesh as he moved slightly, all of it was very good.

Her fingers traced along his back pressing into muscle and running across a few scrapes and faint hints of scars that could probably heal in a few months. Hands slipped from beneath his arms to above, letting her fingers slide against his neck until she could pull him closer to her. Breaking from their kiss she let her mouth trail along his neck, catching his jaw in a kiss, before starting to walk backwards toward her bed, a soft moment of laughter coming from between partings of her lips across his skin.

"Hmmm..." she breathed against his neck, "I'm not too obvious am I?"
