Grandpa

Stretch: hey
Irish: yo
Stretch: did you hear about grandpa?
Irish: no >_>
Stretch: he went for a MRI this morning, and at first they thought he'd had a mild stroke, but now they think its a brain tumor
Irish: holy shit
Stretch: its apparently small or hard to catch, because they're doing another one thats more high-res
Stretch: from what I heard from mom though, no one is sure of anything yet, so theyre doing more tests
Irish: damn
Stretch: yeah
Stretch: which is why he's been really tired recently, apparently
Irish: wow, I hope he's alright
Stretch: I do, too
Stretch: I'm encouraged by the fact that they need a high-resolution MRI to figure it out, though
Irish: aye
Stretch: it'll help if its small, I would think
Stretch: my grandmother had one years and years ago, and they were able to successfully operate
Irish: yeah, I would think small is better than large
Stretch: yeah
Stretch: plus, O'Neills being stubborn and all...
Irish: can you really be stubborn about a tumor?
Irish: that needs to not be there, you have to get rid of it
Stretch: yeah
Stretch: but you know, making sure that it doesnt beat you and all
Stretch: that sort of stubborn
Stretch: i hope that its operable, and he can get it out quickly
Irish: aye
Irish: I'm seeing how the stubborn thing could be a problem, but I'm not sure how to put it tactfully
Stretch: ?
Irish: if he needs an operation, I assume he'd need it soon and would probably need some time to recover. I don't think we're talking about out-patient stuff here
Stretch: no, definatly not
Stretch: my grandmother had to have a piece of her skull removed for the operation
Irish: and not wanting to feel like it "beat him" could alter his judgement about scheduling the operation and the cruise
Stretch: well, uncle tim and grandma oneill are there with him now
Stretch: possibly more of them
Irish: like... he might try to put it off until he gets back because he thinks he'll be ok
Stretch: so there are a large number of very stubborn people supporting him
Irish: haha, that's good
Stretch: i'm sure that they'll schedule it ASAP, regardless of cruise status
Stretch: or Christmas, for that matter
Irish: I certainly hope so
Stretch: me, too
Irish: but I also don't want him to miss the cruise or x-mas or anything like that
Irish: because that's when he's gonna feel like he's losing to it
Stretch: right
***Irish sighs.
Irish: I didn't even know he'd been feeling bad recently
Stretch: I didn't either
So I'm mostly just hoping my grandpa is okay right now. Last exam is tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM and then I'm going home.
