oh, random update: the Community Development Planning course that I'm taking is now making a major impact on the poor and unexpected town of Ucluelet. They didn't stand a chance. But my class made the paper.
I got to see the Olympic Torch on Saturday in Nanaimo, completely by chance. I wasn't planning to go to the big event for it and I just happened to be waiting in traffic with my roommate, while the torch runner went right by and handed it over to the next torch runner. So I got out to see, and the first guy was just so happy about it all that he turned around to hug the first person beside him, oddly enough that was me...again, not what I was trying to achieve.
I got to see the torch again in Ucluelet on Sunday. For the Community Development course that I'm currently taking, it was mandatory that we partake in this large community event and help out...on a Sunday morning right after Halloween drinking....
Let's see, what else have I done recently....not a whole hell of a lot.
