The show must go on

Jun 26, 2006 20:04

So, this coming Saturday is our first sneak preview performance. We will be on stage with Sister Kill Cycle for one song and they're giving us a 10 minute feature on stage by ourselves. We wont need the entire 10 minutes since we only want to do one song but it's cool that they offered.

After that, we will be doing a video shoot on July 23rd with KY Deity to appear on film for their song "God is a Machine". Both bands are very excited about what we're doing and they're totally willing to support and promote us as much as possible. Not necessarily the sort of music you'd expect from a burlesque troupe but every little bit helps.

That is the last thing we're booking for a while since we have the main events coming up at Czar very soon. We have to put down 2 hours worth of material for those shows so it's going to take a lot of thought and work to get the routines down and make sure all the singers and musicians are on the same page. Luckily, I have a partner in crime to help us write out our comedy skits. He's an extremely talented writer and he actually writes for the Tampa Tribune. More information to come on that subject. I want to talk things out with him first before I start naming names.

The amount of support we're getting from professional sources and friends is amazing. Our girls are very dedicated and loyal to us and that makes me very happy. When we face a problem, everyone unites and tackles it head on. I'm very proud of my ladies. I'm glad I pulled together the people I did in the first place to help me with this.

Unfortunately, we had to let go of Minnie Vicious. It was not an easy decision for me but, ultimately, it had to happen. The only good thing to come out of it was being able to make Jaton a producer. She has been a powerhouse ever since. I've been very impressed and I'm happy with our progress.

I know there are some people out there who have problems with some of our girls or me personally and they will try to bash this show. The great thing about it is that the production is capable of speaking for itself. No one needs to defend it. What we have going on here is amazing. While I do think it's childish to talk shit about something like VaudeVillains simply because you don't like one person involved, I also think that we will overcome it and everyone who can look at it with no personal vendetta will love it. I honestly don't care about those who will try to bring us down. They'll fail and that will make me smile all the more.

We've got people crawling out of the woodwork to book us. We have a tattoo convention in Ft. Lauderdale to perform at on the weekend after we get back from Los Angeles. I'm writing up contracts for that right now since they want us for both days of the event.

I think that pretty much covers everything since last time I posted. I do realize that this blog has become centered on VaudeVillains but I'm not sorry. This is the coolest thing I have ever done and I'm damn proud of how well it's going. I can only hope that you're all understanding and supportive of that. ;)
