I took this picture on 25 Dec 2010, when all of Ireland was frozen. This is a view from Harper's island to Killahora. On this south-facing slope snow is already melting.

There was snow even on Fota Island, but large mud fields remained warm and steamed, filling landscape with haze.

Also from 25 Dec 2010. This is 6th hole at Fota golf course. Unusual is that entire golf course was covered with snow. Cork newer used to get much snow. I remember a photo hanging in one of the pubs, with Patrick street covered in snow, but with horse-drawn trams in the middle! Since then Cork was not getting much snow, until past two winters of 2009 and 2010.
