Writer's Block: Celebrating Friendships

Though she hardly ever updates anymore.

Yesterday was fun.  I could go into the details of the music festival, but I'd rather just say that we finally won a trophy and that our Grade 10 Class (which wasn't a trophy class, but we won gold) was ON like you wouldn't believe.

Oh, and I need to bash one of the schools that we watched when it was time for the Grade 9 Class.  They played Pachebel's Canon, except that it had been arranged by the conductor of one of the other schools (in fact, they played it in the trophy class) so that the basses wouldn't be stuck with the same old eight notes through the entire song (I'm sure you've all heard the rant about Pachebel).  And they KILLED IT.  I spent a bit of time wondering what was going on through the head of the arranger as he sat through this incredible butchering of his song.  Then I wondered if the spinning that was inevitably going on in Pachebel's grave at the time could cause a cyclone to destroy the entire universe.

Anyway.

We've established that it is pretty much impossible for me to get drunk.  Stupid high metabolism.  But it was fine, because it meant that I got to drink a LOT and still hang around with Taylor and Gwen while they sat around bashing Em for her incredible attention-getting techniques.  She isn't that great an actress.  So she doesn't do her drunk act very well.

It's incredibly annoying that Em was so "worried" about buying alchohol because she didn't want Mary to overdo it, but in the end Mary was incredibly self-controlled and Em was the one we all wanted to kill.

Thank God for Gwen, though.  Em actually came up to me and asked me why we don't talk anymore (this was when she was being "drunk").  Gwen, of course, knows the full truth, and she was fully NOTTHETIMEORPLACEEM.

Which is what I was thinking, too.

RACHEL was hilarious.  I swear to God, she went into the bathroom and screamed, and we were like, "WHAT???" because she'd had a LOT to drink and had been throwing up a lot.  Her response: "THERE'S A FAN IN HERE!"

There's a fan in here.

Rach, however, regretted it this morning when she woke up with a massive hangover.  Em claims to not have remembered a thing.  Of course.  She pissed us off so much last night.  I woke up tired, because Kara, Louise, and I had been up until 4:30 in the morning playing Guitar Hero, but all in all I wasn't affected a bit by the two straight shots, bottle and a half of Vex, wine glass of straight Cosmopolitan (yay), bit of Blackfly, swigs of Jack Daniel's, or random drink that Taylor mixed up with two shots and various other ingredients.  Oh, or the Bailey's coffee (which only Steph, Taylor, and myself--a.k.a. the Sober Ones--drank).

This afternoon, we saw 17 Again.  Again.  I actually saw it last Saturday with Taylor, because we had to see something PG or under, since we had Hailey with us.  It turned out to be so good (IT'S A ZAC EFRON MOVIE.  IT'S NOT ALLOWED TO BE GOOD.  HE'S NOT ALLOWED TO BE A GOOD ACTOR.  HE'S NOT ALLOWED TO BE HOT.  WHAT HAS THE UNIVERSE COME TO?????) that we convinced everyone else to see it.  Ultimate yay!  Then I went home with Steph's (because Natalie kicked us out and my mum was working), and Sarah was there (Mum's right, she doesn't look pregnant at ALL and she's due in June) with her fiancé, so Steph and I chatted with them about the goings on of last night.  And also their dog.  Because he's big and dumb and incredible.

So, all in all . . . a good time.

17 again, writer's block, parties of incredible awesomeness, kiwanis, music, lj friends
