So.
School today was . . . surreal. I mean, Alex died as a recent graduate. But . . . Elizabeth was actually in our school. She was in grade 12.
The entire day was spent with students skipping class to wander aimlessly in the halls, people gathering in the chapel, teachers trying to explain what had happened but never able to explain why. Nobody really cared about the class-skipping thing. Obviously.
We had an assembly at the end of the day. I barely cried today, but I came really close when Don made us (Chamber Choir) sing Blessing.
You know:
May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields.
Until we meet again, my friend,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.
Those of you who've read my St. Patrick's Day journal entry back on SP know what that means to me.
So, here I am at Meghan's. Our plan is to push past this and have fun. Since we can't dwell on things forever.
