He's gone....

Feb 02, 2007 08:31

One of my ferrets, the light of my life for the last five and a half years, had to leave us this morning. After about two months of losing weight and losing fur due to an inoperable stomach tumor, we had to do the right thing and send him on his way.

At least we hope it was the right thing.

We'll miss you, Spud-boy.....

o sweetie, I'm so sorry. I know how upsetting it was to lose my ferret Zorro. He was the best thing that ever happened to me (beside Wayne and the kids). I loved him so much.. He went everywhere with me - to work, faire, to scouting events, camping, shopping. He was the light of my life.
When he died 5 years ago it left a gaping hole in my heart that never healed. He died the way he lived - in his hammock, hanging over the edge with his head in his food bowl. It's funny now, but wasn't then. I'm still finding dried apricots under furniture and the rug under my desk here at the office still has his scent (I know becuz the dogs still all get excited when they sniff it)
Thinking good thoughts for you in this sad sad time. Love you.

Thanks, ladies.... it just hurts to lose a member of the family. Poor Doug is taking it really hard, too.

But, we still have two fuzzies left that need lots of attention.... not to mention Her Most Royal Highness, Princess Saugy the Dachsie. Spoiled brats, all of 'em. :)

They'd just better stick around for a while.

Pansy dear -- I had no idea you were a former weezil-owner! I should bring one of my babies to faire this year....

LOL!

Snickers is just a big ball of fluff, and he'd probably just drape himself around your neck and fall asleep. Hershey, on the other hand, can be quite the frisky gal -- unless she's out in public. She just hides under my hair and pretends not to see anybody.

I just love 'em....
