Wow, totally different Russia team today. I found myself pulling for them, they were just way too much fun. Especially Arshavin, he was a joy to watch. Russia-Holland is gonna be a great game, I'll probably root for the Dutch for Robin but I guess I'll see come match time.
I'm trying not to be too nervous for Portugal-Germany tomorrow. Germany haven't looked great, but they're the kind of team who saves their best play for playing one of my teams. Hopefully Cristiano and Portugal can live up to potential and kick some ass. Força Portugal!
As for Spain, things could have gone better for sure. But three wins is three wins, and hopefully this way we haven't peaked too early. Right? That's how I'm looking at it. And Italy has been less than inspiring but, like Germany, they're always dangerous. That's gonna be a nerve-wracking game for sure. Hopefully the boys will turn in a stellar performance and wash away my fears. And hopefully Sergio's form improves! Poor thing has been the target of so much criticism over the last few days, hopefully it inspires him instead of getting him down. But we will see!
In other sports, Boston won last night. I missed the whole game because I couldn't summon the motivation to watch it, but I did catch the end. All the celebratory stuff, which is the best part anyway. I got to see Garnett and Pierce go crazy, especially Garnett. Hell, I almost cried watching how emotional he was and I only have a sort of mild liking towards him. I can only imagine how his fans must have felt. Good times.
Olympic trials in gymnastics this weekend, more cause for nerves. Hopefully everyone I like does well and there are no tragedies in team selection. But then, there always are. Drama is inevitable. I just hope it's not one of my faves getting shafted. Especially J-Ho or Sasha, and Sasha has to be careful because he's falling out of contention a bit.
Otherwise loving living in a post-LSAT world here, sitting around and slowly meandering thru various chores. It's lovely to just relax and, to be honest, I'm enjoying the break from the family. But I suppose that's what happens when you live by yourself most of the year. You get used to it, and to being in charge of yourself. Also, it's less hot right now than it was last week. Always a plus.
