(no subject)
Well, it has been a really long time since I have written. I am so sorry! I guess the best way to explain myself is that I have just been busy with life here. After a while, so many months of living abroad, there is a change from the "new exciting, exotic place where everything is fascinating and mystical (this is a slight exaggeration, but basically this is how one feels on trips)" approach to the "I live here sort of place and no one wants to hear about me walking to the supermarket" approach, Life is not any less boring, but the things that are wonderful become much harder to describe and much more ordinary.
For a less philosophical story, I hung out with Arisa, Megu, and Eri last night. We made pizza and Arisa was horrified that I would put cheese on before the toppings and that I made it with tomatoes and basil instead of eggplant and sausage, etc... But Japanese pizza does not taste like pizza, it tastes like Japanese food. Needless to say, though, when she actually ate the pizza she loved it. I thought it was kinda funny as I was giving more culture shock at the moment than recieving it.
I broke up with Kevin two days ago. Please do not ask why or feel bad. It was my doing. I feel more relief than anything else. Sometimes things just work out they way I might dream them to.
