I have been so busy with school lately. Almost overwhelmed. Actually yes, overwhelmed. For the most part I can handle my schedule, but the pain in my gluteal muscle and lower back has made everything a little too much. It has hindered my dancing, I cannot sit in class, and I am attacked by horrible pain when I try to stand. Not being able to move in my own body has made me extremely annoyed. But, today I went to the hospital. Not just any hospital, but one for sports-related injuries and physical therapy. Arisa made me go, and go I did. After realizing that I had brought the wrong insurence card and not knowing where I put the current one, I finally got in and had X-rays and a consultation with Arisa to help me along with my fumbling Japanese. Apparently I have an extra disk in my spin. I saw the X-rays myseld compared to a diagramm and yes I do indeed have an extra disk in my lower-spine. But this is not a problem. In fact, the problem is quite very fixable without anything except exercises and stretching, and I can even continue to dance. So now I am feeling better about life. I curve my spin out too much in the back, though I sorta knew this already from ballet. This strains the muscles in my stomach and puts stress on my lower back, causing me great pain. The thing I didnt know, is that there are muscles in front of my hips that are very unflexible even though the rest of me is very flexible. I felt them for the first time today. Very exciting. I feel very relieved knowing that everything I need to do is gentle and within my limits of doable. No meds, no surgery, no strange procedures, just stretching more, which I love to do already.
