So my brother (Carl) had another car stolen from him last week; the second within a month, in fact, from exactly the same spot right by our house. First to go was his '98 Acura Integra, which he had just bought and spent oodles of carefully saved money on, and then his '87 Toyota Corolla, a tiny rollerskate of a beater car. Go figure.
Yesterday, both of my brothers moved to Spokane. Okay, Cheney. They just wish they were cool enough for Spokampton. It was the fastest packing job I have ever witnessed, since they often procrastinate just as badly as myself, and no packing had been done until the (late) morning of. However, they somehow still managed to make it out the door by 4:00, though they naturally had quite enough time to devour a large Papa John's pizza at some point during the day. There were four of us throwing things in boxes and hauling furniture downstairs to the U-haul-- Carl, Casey, their friend Levi, and myself. Now it's my turn. I go back to Seattle tomorrow!
My mom is fine unless she starts thinking about it, and then she chokes up until I can make her laugh again. She says she's going to get a second job to fill up all this empty time she'll now have, with no more children to keep her occupied. I've so far tried to keep her distracted by discussing and making plans about how we're going to rearrange the house now that my brothers' room is available. My parents are moving into that room because it's bigger, and we're finally going to have a guest room, wherein my siblings shall slumber upon the occasion of a visit. I get to keep my room. (HA! Being the youngest does have its perks. ^_^) Even my dad has been more sentimental than usual, and even my thick skin can't protect me from that. It's been an interesting day. Not bad, not great, but definitely different.
