The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Wow, let me just say wow. And one more time: WOW!

“The Strange Case of Benjamin Button” blew me away completely. I was expecting something along the lines of “Meet Joe Black” and boy was I wrong!

It is an amazing movie and the story touched and captured me. It left me feeling a bit out of focus, like I was surprised that the world was still there, that it was cold and winter and that there will be a tomorrow. Not in a catastrophe movie kind of sense, by the end of the movie I was just so completely taken in by the story everything else seemed and still seems a little bit off.

I just couldn’t imagine how the story was supposed to work but they really thought it through and made it work. I’d love to read the short story the script was based on. And the make up and the effects were amazing. Aging people or making them younger is always a bit problematic and I personally don’t like it (especially the aging since you see that more often) because it almost never looks real. But since the whole movie is based on that concept they I guess they worked so long on it ‘til they found the perfect blend of make up and make over. And it worked beautifully.

As I said the movie left me a bit confused but maybe tomorrow I can write something more coherent and something that does the movie justice ‘cause it is just brilliant and amazing and really touching and I just loved it.

I thought to myself "I’m sure I know the name David Fincher, what did he do again?" So I looked him up and found this: Panic Room, Fight Club, The Game, Se7en, Alien3 and other stuff including music videos. So some really great movie and some that really suck and nothing like "Benjamin Button". Great job, David!
