oh summer....

This summer flew by... it's been quite a while since I've posted. Considering I was gone for a month, I have an excuse... haha kinda. I apologize to those of you who have suffered from Erin's Livejournal withdrawl (cough, cough Amy).

Summer Staff was quite the experience... nothing like I expected to say the least. I met some amazing people that I completely admire and I also met some people that I didnt care for at all. But you know... that's life right? Whether serving at a Young Life Camp, boozing in the dorms with your friends, co-workers at your place of employment, or other people in your club or sport. If I learned anything while I was on Summer Staff...

1) I am becoming more like my mother.
2) I worry too much and try to take control over my life... when really everything is all in God's hands.
3) Just because you label yourself a Christian... doesnt mean you fit every Christian stereotype.

July was a trying month for me. I cried more in July then i did in all of 2004 which includes a multitude of events that requires tears. My hope that is everyday I take the events of July with a grain of salt and remember the most important thing... and that's what God taught me about myself and my life. I do; however, have some great memories and will miss a handful of you dearly.

After Summer Staff, I had the 6 students from Sweden (that served with my @ Champion) come and stay at my house. I had an excellent time with them and I feel blessed to have had the oppurtunity to spend more time with them. Friday when we got home I took them out to Java's... gotta love Java's! It was quite the experience in Markus's words "Erin, this is a wonderful cafe! I've never seen anything like it!" Haha... after that I met up with a few of my friends from home @ Sackeli's house. So the Swedes got to meet my lovely Michael and Brenna. After that we headed back to my house for a late night swim in the pool with my best friend Tyler, my sister, my boyfriend, and Eric. After the sickest nastiest whirl pool ever... we hit the sheets. Saturday, I took the whole lot to Niagra Falls to see the falls of coarse. It's so easy to become sensitised to the amazingness of th falls. It's so beautiful. After a lovely day at the falls... we headed back to my house again. We met up with Scott and Abby at the beach. My best friend Jamie rolled by for a bit. The next morning the Swedes were off to the next stop on their American Road Trip. They left with me a swedish flag, a postard of Stockholm, and some authentic swedish culture :)

Emmo, Tes, Markus, Phil, Dre, and Daniel... you have touched my life in so many ways you will never understand. You are amazing people. I admire you more than you could ever comprehend. I anticipate me visitng you in Stockholm this December :)

So... since the swedish takeover... I've basically been converted to reality once more... back to work at Eckerd, back to my friends and family, and now its back to school!

I leave for pittsburgh friday... but dont move into the bluff until saturday :)I am more excited for this year than anything. A whole summer away from my DUQ KIDS was horrible. You have no idea how much I missed some of you. This year is gonna be so inforgettable! My lovely roomie has already moved in. Our room is gonna be sick nasty... so when you stop by Towers 1026... you'll know.

Seriously, right now my amazing dog is fast asleep on my bed... and i freakin love him. Anyone who knows me well... knows I'm obsessed with Kitty and some of you are too. If you were here right now you would love him too. Haha... he's so cute. I'm not gonna lie i just took a picture for you...

awwwwwwwwwwwww I love him!

One more thing... I got transferred to an Eckerd in Pittsburgh. Oh lord... I'm an eckerd slave year round now. I'm working at a store in Mt. Lebanon. Sweet! Which is probably where I am leading Young Life as well! Sweet! I am so excited to be in a new store and learn so much more. Anyway... I'm out kids.
