1. 2 rows to go until I bind off for the neck and start working on the minimal shoulder shaping for Rhapsody in Brown. I think. My row gauge is off, so I have to do more rows than suggested to get to the measurement at which I should be working the neck/shoulders. It ended up working out pretty perfectly for the back, with me doing exactly one

I have no idea who you're talking about, but I wanna know! :)

I would say it's very likely the latter option, though I wouldn't necessarily call it "jealousy." Personally, I think at least one blogger in particular got a book deal because she has a huge fan base (lots of fans = lots of sales), not because her designs or writing are any good. Maybe envy is a better term. I know that I envy people who seem to have all the luck, particularly when I think there are more deserving people (and not just me!) out there.

The Curmudgeon and her minions (including QueerJoe) are annoying as heck. They draw people in with their endless snark. They like to bait people and make fun of them. If you leave a comment that isn't worshipful of them, their readers will attack you in the comments, and then they'll write an entire separate post about it. "Immature" is just one way to describe it.

I noticed how some of these bloggers barely blog about knitting at all. All they do is BITCH about knitting, and moreso, the people who knit. Truthfully, the knitting I've seen them do isn't very good, so maybe that's why they have to take the other route.

I like a lot of QueerJoe's stuff, and find that I'm usually happy reading the snark in his blog, as long as I don't dare to peek in the comments. I keep on reading the Knitting Curmudgeon because I assume that she'll eventually talk more about her knitting. Maybe an assumption that those who dish it also have the goods to back themselves up? I guess it could be an unfounded assumption, but that's what I've been going with. (Peeking at her WIP list in her sidebar, she does have a couple of projects that interest me. She doesn't blog much about that, though.)

Looking back at the post in question, I realized that a lot of what bothered me was in the comments.

and to clarify, I don't mean to imply that I don't think she's not a good knitter. But I do feel she doesn't post enough about her knitting to give me a feel for what her knitting is like. I guess I'd rather have minions that irrationally worshipped my blog because of my writing or my knitting, and not because of who I hated. She seems to be bordering on the latter, which I find a bit ironic, though amusing.

I didn't know who you were talking about at first because I took her off my bloglines a couple months ago. I'd been reading for about 6 months and it was all bitching no knitting. (I think I've seen maybe 2 posts with actual knitting content) I'm sure she's a good knitter, but doesn't show it. The drama was fun at first, but got old and repetative.
