Donna is AWESOME. By far my most favourite companion in the modern series thus far ( I mean she's the only companion thus far who doesn't want to shag the Doctor and I find that refreshing). Not that Martha and Rose aren't awesome, because they are, but I just find Donna to be so... fascinating

Did you check out the analysis on the link above? Lol. Pretty damn good I say... it's nice to look at... bit spoiler-ish I suppose, but I don't quite think it'll work out the way he said it would. But it's an interesting read anyways.
I'm thinking that the reason was there to fight the Racnoss was perhaps because without Donna, they were forced to put the Huon particles on someone else which also drew the Tardis to that person as well perhaps? But maybe this person wasn't as ... loud... as Donna, and therefore unable to force the Doctor to snap out of it during the episodes fiery pivotal scene. Just speculation of course.
But good point about "The Fires of Pompeii". Maybe the writers are hoping that no-one noticed or remembered. Ha ha.
Also what I meant to say was... "I'm hoping that the whole reason for Donna's existence IS TO NOT ONLY break the barriers between"... because if it is so, then it increases the likeliness that she's the one to die at the end of this series.
I love how Catherine Tate emotes eh? Able to move from one emotion to the next so quickly and seamlessly. Comedic one moment, serious the next, and then heartwrenchingly dramatic. I can't wait for the last two eps!
