Donna is AWESOME.  By far my most favourite companion in the modern series thus far ( I mean she's the only companion thus far who doesn't want to shag the Doctor and I find that refreshing).  Not that Martha and Rose aren't awesome, because they are, but I just find Donna to be so... fascinating ( Read more... )

I agree--I really love Donna. This last episode was pretty darn grand, and seeing how everything sucked so bad because Donna wasn't a part of it to save the Doctor was sad. Though, under analysis, things kinda fall apart--because the only reason the Doctor was even there to confront the Racnoss anyway was because Donna appeared in his TARDIS; otherwise, he'd have had no reason to go to Earth. Also, it's a moot point, because all of Earth would be a blistering Pyrovile heat planet because Donna wouldn't have been there to give the Doctor the support he needed to blow Vesuuvius back in "The Fires of Pompeii"... so, I'm just saying.

Martha is still my favorite companion, though. I really liked her last year and really bonded with her more than I did Rose and more than I have Donna this year. I'm looking forward to seeing her next season when we also get Jack, Gwen and Ianto from Torchwood, Sarah Jane, Luke and Mr. Smith from Sarah Jane Adventures, Rose, Mickey and even Martha's mother again. And the week after that we get some Jackie and even old Harriet Jones, ex-Prime Minister. And of course, scheming evil ol' Davros, creator of the Daleks and general misanthropic asshole.

She said she's not coming back for the 4 mini-movies for 2009! That worries me since the show's exec's said that someone close to the Doctor is going to die... then again, that's what Rose said about herself, and we know how that turned out.

Did you check out the analysis on the link above? Lol. Pretty damn good I say... it's nice to look at... bit spoiler-ish I suppose, but I don't quite think it'll work out the way he said it would. But it's an interesting read anyways.

I'm thinking that the reason was there to fight the Racnoss was perhaps because without Donna, they were forced to put the Huon particles on someone else which also drew the Tardis to that person as well perhaps? But maybe this person wasn't as ... loud... as Donna, and therefore unable to force the Doctor to snap out of it during the episodes fiery pivotal scene. Just speculation of course.

But good point about "The Fires of Pompeii". Maybe the writers are hoping that no-one noticed or remembered. Ha ha.

Also what I meant to say was... "I'm hoping that the whole reason for Donna's existence IS TO NOT ONLY break the barriers between"... because if it is so, then it increases the likeliness that she's the one to die at the end of this series.

I love how Catherine Tate emotes eh? Able to move from one emotion to the next so quickly and seamlessly. Comedic one moment, serious the next, and then heartwrenchingly dramatic. I can't wait for the last two eps!
