Crumpled on the floor missed the target

I have neglected to write in here lately. I really should do it more often. I am sure I will have plenty of time next week when I spend the whole work week in California.

Im so tired. I got back to work today and I had over 100 emails in my inbox. I was gone for 3 days, not including the weekend and the holiday. Since I took all my vacation days when my sister was in the hospital, this past weekend was my only vacation for the entire year. Yay. They won't make an exception for me to buy additional days or something. Not very cool. I guess I can't complain they have made a lot of exceptions for me since the surgery.

I met our groups new head manager today. He seems very nice and laid back. I hope that my first impression of him is what he is really like. I also had to interview yet another person for a job in our group. I wonder how we will handle having so many new people. I am in charge of training these people. I hope I do a good job.

Everytime I come back from vacation there is a crap-ton of email and tasks and everything else under the sun to do. Or, there is some crisis right before I leave and I typically spend my first day of vacation trying to make phone calls or read emails and message coworkers.

I really don't want to go on this trip next week. But my boss wants me to go to check this supplier out, so that's what Im doing. I don't know anything about LA or the area around it. I hope Mapquest guides me on my way! I hope the traffic isn't too awful. I really hate traffic jams and tons of traffic.

This job makes me tired. I can't sleep very much. I am finding that I can't sleep very well when Conor isn't here. I know that sounds cheesy but I really do miss him a lot when he isn't around.

This weekend we went to his family's cottage on a lake in West Michigan. It was so nice. We may get to go back in August (I hope), maybe bring friends this time. He bought a 2 person hammock and we spent the weekend reading and doing word puzzles in it.

We went out on both of their boats, including his parents new pontoon boat. It was very nice. I love water, and the lake was almost like glass at some points in the evenings. I took a couple nice sunset pictures. Maybe I will post them when I get a chance.

It was so nice to sit around a campfire and toast smores. I haven't done that in such a long time. I also got a chance to read some books which I haven't really done in the past few months. I also bought some stuff to start sewing again. I need to tune up my sewing machine so I can start on the throw pillows for my bed. If I get a little more adventurous and have more time, I will start sewing curtains. I really need to find a good sewing table. I don't have any place to store my sewing items...they are all in little boxes here and there and are stored in my closet in the study. I wish my mother hadn't thrown away her old sewing table. I could have used it. All the ones I've seen are uber fancy.

Tomorrow I am going to buy some yarn so I can start crocheting again. Conor wants me to make him a cap. Hopefully I finish it by winter!
