Fringe

So. Fringe. It’s really no exaggeration to say that more than half of its episodes are frustratingly mediocre. And yet. When the writers manage to wind up the action/emotion and let it all explode, it becomes amazing. To the extent that it turns me into a gibbering idiot who just wants to talk about parallel universes. (Sidebar: let’s talk about ( Read more... )

Fact: The reason I started watching this show (uh,. lingering crush on Pacey-era josh Jackson aside) is because Brad Kane, who was the singing voice of Aladdin, is a writer/producer. Disney connections!

Also, are you really using an Alias icon with Dashboard Confessional lyrics over the top? I knew you were my favourite for a reason.

EXHALE ANOTHER WASTED BREATH THE TELEVISION STEALS THE CONVERSAAAAAAATION.

This is my oldest (and technically crappiest) icon. *beams* Yet I still use it a lot, because I'm still a Syd/Will 'shipper and still an emo kid.

(okay, gotta go cue up some Dashboard Confessional...)

After this entry, Fringe has just moved to top priority on my "to watch" list.

I watched about half of the first season (I have to admit I only started watching for Pacey :D) and then fell off the wagon because of other TV conflicts in the same time slot. I keep meaning to pick it up again. Possibly after I finish catching up with Dexter.

Ironically, you probably quit Fringe just before it started to show real promise. The last half-dozen eps of s1 are really quite good. The quality dips again at the beginning of s2, but then the show gets REALLY good towards the end of s2 and maintains its momentum through what's aired of s3. (Whew! That was vaguely complicated. ;)

I'm feeling slightly evangelical about Fringe right now, so yesyesyes, you should watch it. :D I totally support catching up on Dexter as well, though.
