Breaking Bad s3, thus far
I gave this show three (slow, non-eventful) episodes to get on track for the new season, but since the fourth episode was also slow and non-eventful, I am getting irritated. :|
There's just not much tension. I don't think Skyler (Schyler? Schuyler? OMFG, I'll just call her Sky) is really going to turn Walt in to the police ("blowback", indeed). Even the two Mexican Mafia dudes who want to kill Walt seem more cartoonish than threatening.
I think Walt being emotionally unhinged and Jesse being creepily serene (Jesse telling Walt, "I'm the bad guy" was probably the best scene of the season) has potential to build to an amazing climax, but the journey so far has been dulllll. I like that they're making Sky very much the sympathetic party, but the result is that Walt just seems extra douche-y.
Also, the show is always at its best when it's Walt and Jesse hanging out, being an odd-couple, and yet they've had, what? two scenes together? *weeps* However, I get the impression -- I may be wrong -- that the end game of this season might be Walt getting hooked on meth, which would be OMG AWESOME (...ly bad, but you know what I mean).
I wanna write D/s-y fic about Walt getting high for the first time and having sex with Jesse. :x My mind is always full of fucked-up Jesse/Walt fic ideas. OTP, IDEK.
