American Idol - Rolling Stones week

Mar 18, 2010 11:40

Rolling Stones week was always going to be a hot mess (Allison Iraheta, I missss youuuu!), so for this episode to be merely blandly forgettable was actually a pleasant surprise.

I spent most of the episode slightly distracted (s'posed to be werking an' all), which makes it even more incredible that, when Crystal's dad started crying, I started crying, too. ;__; I've been resisting jumping on the Bowersox bandwagon, especially since her "I'm just here to make money" comments were a little crass (sure, everyone feels the same way, but you don't say it). But, god, she was effortless and poised and beautiful this week and I LOVE HER.

Siobhan was great, too, although I hope the scream-note does not become her trademark. It fit this song, but it's not gonna fit every song.

I still think Andrew Garcia is getting shat upon more than he deserves. At least he always sings in tune, okay?

I finished Little Squirt's Aaron Kelly's performance with a big sigh of, "well, okay, that wasn't terrible." Unfortunately, my goodwill was short-lived when the judges started acting like it was the greatest performance evah. FALSE.

I knew Paige Miles was sticking around when she spent the entirety of her interview talking about church. Btw, hearing some girl sing is not the point of attending church. Religion: ur doin it wrong.

AT LEAST LACEY BROWN IS GONE. I don't think I could have handled another week of that.

For the lulz, from Adam B Vary's 'on the scene' recap:
(Katie Stevens' brother sang during the warm-up.) "Wearing baggy jeans and a tight red polo, Ryan pulled out a solid take on Michael Bublé’s “Everything” that was pretty much better than anything his little sis has pulled off on the show."

ETA: Where would a non-iTunes user acquire downloads of the last few weeks' performances? (she said shiftily)
