two things that don't really go together, uhm...

I caught up with The Hills and, damn, it was actually kind of poignant. No, really.

During their goodbye lunch, Whitney and Lauren talk about how they've grown up together over the last few years. Then, later, when Lauren and Heidi have their sort-of-kind-of reconcilation at the party, Heidi says, "I still feel like I'm 19 -- three years feels like five minutes ago." And you can see the pity on Lauren's face as she's thinking, "no, sweetie, I grew up."

:,(

Also: comedy moment: Heidi's "have you been working out a lot?" AhahahaWHAT? :D

Is it just me or is Brent Bolthouse the comedy dark horse on this show? I loooved his reaction to Heidi telling him she got married. *deadpan* "Shut up..............fine."

Religulous finally showed up on That Community recently, which was Very Exciting for me, because I have been wanting to see this movie for aaaages. Anyway, I was expecting to love it -- and I did! :D (Wow. What a review. I'm a real movie buff.)

Here are some moments from the movie that stick in my memory:

. The Ex-Mormons asking Bill if he got any Mormons to speak to him. To which he replied, yeah, the guys who escorted us off the church property...

. The general hilarity of the Truckers' Chapel and the fact that most of the guys there were actually really nice and open to Bill's questions. In general, this wasn't a mean-spirited movie at all.

. The snakeskin-shoed pastor telling Bill that a young man from his congregation was all screwed up over a girl, so he encouraged him to put that level of feeling into worshipping God -- an exchange followed by a suicide bomb explosion. 'Cause YEAH. Putting all your fucked-up teenage energy into God's work is really working out well for young men in the Middle East. o__O

. The fact that "Jesus" at the Holy Land Experience actually seemed to be a pretty big fan of Bill. Lulz!

. Bill talking about making a pact with God that he'd quit smoking -- which actually kind of worked out for him. :D?

. The guy who thought rain was a miracle. And, in general, could not remember all the many miracles that had proved God's existence to him.

. In general, I thought the way Bill conducted the interviews was, frequently, amazing. Like, the "ex-gay" who initially got incredibly antagonized by Bill and then seemed quite affable. (The hug! Oh god, the hug.) Of course, the best interview was with the "ex-Zionist" Jew, who wouldn't stop talking, until Bill just stood up and said to the cameraman, I'm done.

Ahhh. Seriously, such an amusing, thought-provoking movie. :)
