paperdollmuse chose these for me:

About three years after the rest of the world, I fell hard in love with The Libs and Pete/Carl. It's all so gloriously, gloriously fucked up. I don't think there will ever be a band pairing that hits my buttons so hard. Carl went on tour without Pete and Pete missed him so much/was so irrationally angry with him that he broke into his house. And then they wrote a song about it. (Aside: Why do I write RPS? Because reality is usually better than fiction.)

It's a lyric from Robots in Disguise - Boys (to download: "music" + "divided"), which is one of my favourite songs. It also sums up quite succinctly why I enjoy bandslash. Guitar wank = actual wank.

I'm secretly kind of a big fan of All-American Rejects. I don't keep up with fandom, but I enjoy their songs (and their ridiculousness) a lot. I saw this picture, of Tyson and his model-y girlfriend, and I thought, ahahaha, they look like Barbie and Ken! And that's what Tyson Ritter is, of course: he's the rockstar version of Ken (new from Mattel!).

abstract expressionism
I took an American Studies class on the 1950s a couple of years ago and, in the process, I got really into abstract expressionism, particularly Mark Rothko. I generally like art that makes other people say, that's dumb, *I* could have painted that. (Like hell you could've.)

everwood
Fun fact: I was fannish about Everwood before I ever saw an episode. I read transcripts of the show, because I was so sure it was a show I would enjoy. (Ha! God, I'm weird. :D) I pretty much just love Greg Berlanti. I love the way he creates family drama and deals with "issues". Episode 20 is probably the best episode of anything, ever.

giant drag
I saw Giant Drag supporting Pretty Girls Make Graves and they were probably the most entertaining support band I've seen. I fell hard in love with crazy Annie and her Mark-Ruffalo-alike drummer, Micah (who has since left the band, *tear*). Their music really appeals to me (see below, re: weird chick music).

homoeroticism in stars hollow
WHY WERE THERE NO GAY CHARACTERS ON GILMORE GIRLS?? This is my one point of contention with Amy Sherman-Palladino. I love Gilmore Girls, but geez, that's a whole lot of white, heteronormative folks. *yawn* To do my part to subvert the heterosexist agenda (LOLZ), I 'ship Dean with everyone with a penis in Stars Hollow. Dean/Tristan? Dude. Dean/Luke? Awesome. Dean/Jess? Hatesex. Dean/Taylor? Um...

pretty boys kissing
Everyone likes to see pretty boys kiss, right?

...Aaand, the prosecution rests! (Incidentally, I love that I went looking for Chicago bromance kissing pictures and the first one I found in my files was Darren Wilson. FTW Darren. The world needs more Darren slash.)

tony/effy
I usually like my incest 'ships with a twist (some kind of sci-fi element; separated-at-birth GSA; some kind of trauma or dangerous setting), but Tony/Effy is just good old suburban, "what you don't know about the Stonems at number 30" and it is delicious.

weird chick music
Girly singer-songwriter music is one of my favourite genres and if that girly singer-songwriter is a bit weird, then so much the better!
