Thoughts on Friday Night Lights, #1.05: OH JASON. OH TIM. OH MATT. OH TYRA. Hell, I even have an OH LYLA in me. *smooshes them all*
Tim/Lyla is so fucked uuuup. Love it! I wasn't keen on the apparent woobification of Tim (although feeding Lyla was a nice, albeit creepy, parallel), but whoooa, Lyla gave him the smackdown on that one. Awesome.
I was just a bundle of incoherant nerves during the scene when the team went to visit Jason. I thought Tim wouldn't be there... and then he WAS. And then I died. (I am currently typing from beyond the grave. *spirit fingers* ... *ahem*)
Sometimes, as I am watching, I just say, Brian "Smash" Williams, complete with air quotes. Just because it amuses me. (For that matter, I also make the Cobra Starship "fangs up" sign when I'm bored. I make my own fun!) OH SMASH. Ha. I love how that sounds like a variation on oh snap.
Voodoo could have been such a cardboard cut-out/cliched baddie, but he's actually a pretty nuanced character. I find him strangely sympathetic and just... interesting. I'm almost sad that he seems poised to written out. (Ha! Who am I kidding? This show is so cancelled. They're ALL poised to be written out. :/)
And now! A day of staring at Picasso's Les Demoiselles D'Avignon awaits me! OH FUN.
