So ConBust is over! My last one?!? well, who knows. As always, it's been a blast, and I got to hang out with people I don't often get to see, like
redswami, and people from Columbia, and
delphinadaeand
keitichandesu. There was "That Creepy Guy" to avoid, and apparently a lot of groping in the artists' room. As always, I held lofty goals for panel attendence and ended up attending just 2 (and not even for the whole time, I walked out after about 40 minutes on one and came in late on the Webcomics panel). The guests were as awesome as ever. I gave Jennie Breeden and her brother chocolate with pop rocks in it. Facial expressions? Awesome.
redswami and I got to play DDR, though not nearly as much as I would have liked. I kept falling off the pad and not stepping hard enough. The DDR room was nice, although I felt the same players pretty much bogarted the room all weekend. And they were pretty advanced too, so I often imagined they were laughing at me in their heads.
My Cthulhu Lolita costume went over REALLY well, to the point where when I walked in on Saturday morning, I was swarmed by people taking pictures. I expect to see those pictures, people! Seriously. I was very pleased with the response. And although I missed the cosplay contest, I was still happy with my work. I don't need any awards.
I also got to sit around with
msft and Jeph Jacques of QC, and Kyle (man, there's probably an entry about him 2 years ago from this entry). The consuite had some awesome foods this year, and although I was repulsed by the jello castle ("Have the pixies been dancing in it?" asked Jennie Breeden), The chips and pretzels and bagels and coffee were much appreciated.
I was really pleased with my ability to get stuff done before the con this year. Getting the Cthulhu costume just right was a top priority of course, but I still managed to do some nice things for myself and clean my room for Alex and Aaron, who arrived rather late (though not as late as in previous years), and stayed with me. Now I'm exhausted. But I have to go to classes and stuff. I'm looking forward to next weekend when I can chill out a bit and not run around so much, as the next weekends after that will be pretty high stress and high-activity.
