New Year's Resolutions

Jan 10, 2010 13:18

A bit belated, I know . . .

I'd like to keep up my standard of finishing two projects for every one that I start. Once I catch up a bit I will reward myself with dropping back to a 1:1 pace, but for right now I need to be finishing some stuff.

As far as goals for the new year, I have three.

1) Finish 20 books in 2010. This may sound intimidating, but it's under 2 a month and I already have 12 started. making a book takes about 6 hours, and making several books at once doesn't really take that much longer. making 2 books also takes 6 hours, making 4 maybe adds an hour or so, but it's pretty easy to make an assembly line.

2) Finish 10 quilt tops in 2010. I slacked on my 1 top a month last year and didn't really finish anything. I'm dropping back to 10 tops because that way i can keep my goals 20-10 (tee hee) but also because I don't always finish one a month, and I want to give myself a little room.

3) Finish 10 Quilts in 2010. I have three tops sitting in berkeley waiting to be quilted, one quilt that's already quilted and needs to be bound, and one quilt in the works that I'm planning on quilting myself so i really have no excuse not to finish it all the way. While quilting is expensive and that is a bit of a consideration, I need to start finishing my quilts.

I wish i could think of another 20 so i could have 2 2010s, but at the moment I can't think of anything . . . will come back to this later. maybe finish 20 projects that are neither quilts nor books? the problem is that what i have started is mostly knitting stuff, and finishing 20 knitted proj's in a year is a little crazy. altho I also have potholders, some clothes and a few bags . . .
