Writer's Block: Happily Ever After?

Feb 20, 2008 21:44

Well, my friend Lauren had been wanting sushi for a while, and she loves getting out of the house.  So we made a non-date for Singles Anonymous Day.  Our friend Darlene then joined us, since she wanted to try sushi.

Lauren and I decided on a fabulous place called Oh Yoko!, since it's truly the best place in town.  She got a Rainbow Roll, in honor of herself, chicken katsu, and checked out the (rather cute) waitress.  Darlene got the same, and loved it, but almost cried when we told her what the tiny orange things were (she's a big fish lover).  It took me a day to notice that the chef had arranged the pieces in an arc....  >_>

I ordered Coconut Shrimp to share with everybody, which was just fabulous.  It came with this little dipping cup of what I thought was melted butter (strange in a sushi place, no?), but turned out to be a cold, sweet lemon sauce.  Puuuurfect.  Both the katsu and the shrimp came with sliced vegetables topped with sesame seeds and this sweet, light sauce that complimented it perfectly, and with red rice (I believe it's called sekihan) that was shaped into a heart.  =^.^=  Too cute!

I then got a Boston Roll, which is delicious, and their New York Roll, which differs from others since it has salmon, cream cheese, avocado, and apple.  So good.  (And one eel sushi.  Mm.)

We then went to get ice cream.  Darlene got cake batter ice cream, which tastes EXACTLY like cake batter, so she got three scoops, and determined halfway through foodgasming that she was going to probably throw it all up.

In other news, The L Word is addictive.  And Shane is..... mmmm.
