So as many of you know, I do not watch television. Got out of the habit when I was in Japan and just never got back into it--I get more done if it's not available to me. This means I'm not up on the current shows. Last night, I was link jumping in between rounds of graphic tinkering and found a rather impressive musical group--Nuttin But Stringz. (careful with the link--music automatically starts) Apparently these guys are on America's Got Talent. They're a set of brothers who play violin to scathingly good effect while incorporating aspects of current rock, hip hop and rap. Found a video, they are absolutely amazing. Considering my own musical direction, I'm always glad to see someone else experimenting with taking a traditionally classical sound and updating it. The fact that these two write all their own compositions is also wonderful. So, if you haven't seen them yet, I highly recommend it. The actual performance in the video starts about a minute in--there's an interview section first.
