Pass / No Pass?
I really wanted to pass / no pass the stats class that I am taking for GPA reasons, but I did not since the class was ridiculously expensive. This is the only bad thing about doing well in your previous classes- haha.
A friend/acquaintance today told me he saw two girls making out, and that he thought it was hot. He went on about saying he supports all the restrictions on same-sex interactions (especially among men) in his country of Dubai-how "manly". Our patriarchal societies urge men to always take the dominant role, and we have created this macho-ideal that makes people dislike/distrust guys who are not taking the leading position in a relationship. His condescending attitude upset me, and now I almost have a condescending view of him. I sound like an elitist, but I wish he could appreciate the slight, harmless differences that enrich us.
Summer is ending in a month for me; I hope I can see everyone before it is time to head back to Merced.
