I love this! Stories told like this leave you with all kinds of lovely little mental images about what happened "offscreen", like the fuzzy whatsits tying up the Doctor and whatever happened to Martha at Torchwood. Not to mention the drunken/drugged calls, which were really too funny. Plus, you get in some wonderful character stuff. Unexpected poignancy in the midst of humor is tough to pull off, but you did it beautifully. Kudos!
