Things and life and whatnot
Weekend was spent hanging out with fadingembers and jaina. Mostly they have tweeted and/or written up everything we did on Saturday, but to reiterate, in brief:
Went to watch New Moon. It was terrible. It wasn't like I was expecting a whole lot, but it was truly, truly bad. We watched it drunk. I can't actually imagine sitting through it sober.
Hung out at my apartment and discussed the relative merits of various fandoms, pairings and politics. fadingembers introduced us to Middleman which, unlike New Moon, was far, far better than it had any right to be. It took me a while, but I finally figured out what it was about the main character that was striking such a familiar chord:
The Middleman is Benton Fraser of Due South if Fraser were slightly less Canadian and spent a good chunk of his time battling aliens. They are cosmic twins, yo. It's creepy.
Also, I learned of a good place *not* to go for Sunday morning breakfast. This was a disappointment - more so for the folks with me, I suspect, since we were pretty hungry by that point - so we ate far more Chinese food than we should have and watched a couple of Dresden Files episodes. Which is not the worse way to end a weekend.
