My brand new (like a week old) aluminum Apple keyboard had an unauthorized meeting with a full can of Coke.
It's been sitting here for a while now... all sticky and completely unusable. Since it was headed to the trash anyway, I figured it wouldn't make much difference if it had a trip through the dishwasher first... even if it didn't work, it was already ruined at this point.
I didn't use Cascade or any other automatic dishwashing soap because I didn't want any weird film to coat the electronics... instead I used a single drop of Dawn. (Hi Mom!) ;)
I ran it through both the wash and dry cycles, then let it air dry overnight.
It. works. perfectly.
So apparently the "clean your keyboard in the dishwasher" rumor is not a myth!
YAYS! :D
