Life update

Life has been very up and down lately.

Work wise, things have been okay. My stress levels after completing the holiday project are way down (YAY!) but my boredom levels are starting to go back up (BOO!). I really don't know what I want to do about all of this. I feel like I'm not really growing or learning anything new in my career... there are some educational opportunities coming up that I will take advantage of but the more I think about them, the more I wonder if this is where I REALLY want my career to head. Switching careers kind of a moot point at the moment though because I still don't have a degree of any kind... I should probably start there. I'm not looking to rock the boat anytime soon because the money is good, but I honestly can't see myself doing this forever.

Things at home have been kind of chaotic due to scheduling conflicts. Training has started at the IRS for seasonal (read tax rush) employees. Because Sammy is the manager in charge of all that madness, his schedule has been severely fucked... he's currently working double-shifts because he has to make sure everything is in order for his trainers on both the day and evening shifts.
On top of that, one of my roommates applied for a position there so Sammy and I have been re-organizing our work schedules (as much as possible) to help him avoid taking the bus (mass transit in Fresno SUCKS).
Currently that means I have to get to work earlier... much earlier than my comfort level considers acceptable (how did I used to do this when I was a kid going to school?). On top of that I only get to see Sammy for an hour a day (at most) between getting ready in the morning and going to sleep at night.
On top of everything else it doesn't help that I'm losing sleep over a very, very frustrating issue that involves my parents... but I'm not quite ready to talk about that one yet.

Socially things are good, but could be better. A couple of weeks ago I attended Further Confusion and had an absolute blast! Got to see everybody I was hoping to, although there were a handful I wish I could have spent more time with, but such is the nature of the beast. Overall though it was very relaxing and low stress... what more could you ask for? Aside from a couple of Gatherings, I think this was my best con experience to date!
Coming up next is IBR! Sammy and I always have a great time there but my only complaint is that I'm inevitably reminded how totally inept I am when it comes to the social form of communication known as "flirting". Outside of that, I want to get together with the gang in San Diego soon, it has been too long since we hung out. But honestly, the way February's looking I probably wont have a free weekend until 24th.

Meanwhile, in entertainment news... there isn't any! LOL!
Due to the scheduling conflicts mentioned above, there hasn't been any real opportunities for Sammy, my roommates, and I to all get together to enjoy our favorite shows on TiVo. Translation, I'm two weeks behind on Heroes (and other shows) ;_;!!
On the other hand, it has given me opportunity to get caught up on gaming. Currently my repertoire includes The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Gears of War, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, and Okami. Yeah, I'm running a little behind, but I didn't really have any time to play over the holidays. Unless the endings totally suck, all 5 of these games come highly recommended. Hopefully I'll be able to deliver the final verdict next week.

So, I guess that's all... for now (bum, bum, buuum)
Thanks for reading, have faith and keep smiling. :)
