Riley Update

Riley is now 4 months old can you believe it?

He rolled from tummy to back this weekend. Actually on Monday morning. All by himself! Yay!

Saturday 9th Dec Riley had his first taste of smashed sweet potatoes! I boiled and smashed them up for a lunch date we had with a couple at our house and we had plenty of leftovers that night. Riley was a little fussy in his swing so Cordes put him in his lap while Cordes finished dinner. He put a little bit of smashed sweet potato on his finger and gave Riley a taste (Cordes asked me if it were OK first, how cute? - I'm mama alligator). Riley LOVED it! So Cordes gave him a few more little bits. Riley ate it up. So he's had his first little bit of solid food. How exciting!

We haven't given him anything else, but I do plan on making his baby food when I can. I bought ice cube trays for freezing individual portions and little use or lose spoons for him for Christmas.

Riley is holding his bottle. Well, starting to now. I gave him some sugar water yesterday and he wanted to hold it himself. He was SUPER fussy for some outlandish reason so I got to the point where I tried sugar water - after a lot of other things - and he loved it and held it, a little. Well, then he popped the bottle out of his mouth and stuck the nipple in his eye.

Riley saw Santa Claus yesterday too! Santa was so awesome and Riley did great, though he didn't smile for the camera. Oh well, that wasn't the point anyway.

What else....?

His diaper rash is finally gone. It was yeast and stayed for almost two weeks! OUCH!

I think he's beginning to teethe. Jessica and her mom think so too. Ho hum.

He LOVES the Christmas lights on our little tree.

He does tummy time really well. He loves "flying" especially when Daddy throws him in the air. He's outgrown most of his 0-3 clothes :( My boy's growing up! He's 14lbs2oz and 27.5 inches long!

He's in the 31st percentile for weight but the 93rd percentile for height!

He's a trooper and had his second set of shots on Tuesday. They gave him a low grade fever Tuesday night, but he's doing fine now.

Ok, I need to post some pics but they're on the other computer so it'll have to wait.

Happy RhamaHanaKwanzMas!
