I borrowed my car today so that I could pick Baby up from school. My legs are still sore from the walk yesterday. But, strangely, they feel good. I should start training again. At least to get in shape to start teaching. I heard the song "
Situation" on the radio today. I miss Yaz. Took me back a bit. A lot of people don't understand why I have a strange fondness for the '80s. Heh. Yeah, it was a decade of excess and greed of Reaganian proportions, but hey, I spent a lot of it stoned, drunk, fucking or some combination of all three. Band was a good thing. Strange thing about Yaz: I once played the song below for Evenstar; she said that when she looked in my eyes, she could swear she saw them scroll across them.
"Winter Kills"
by Yaz
Green in your love on bright days
You grew sunblind you thought me unkind
To remind you how winter kills
Lost in daydreams you drove too fast and got nowhere
You rode on half fare when you got too scared
How winter kills
Tear at me searching for weak seams
Pain in your eyes makes me cruel
Makes me spiteful tears are delightful welcome your nightfall
How winter kills
I tear at you searching for weak seams
How winter kills
I took my BoS to work today. Not sure why. I also felt compelled to tell folks that I have an ordaination certificate and that I am a Reverend. Heh heh. Didn't do that either; I really don't want to be the one nominated to say those illegal prayers that we sometimes say at school staff functions. Although the idea of what I could say and do amuse me more than anyone can hope to imagine.
My headache has abated a bit today. I think that is because I have one of those headaches you get from not having the normal caffein intake. I made a pot of coffee. I feel a bit better now.
The Old Basement Broad left last night. OBB went up the basement stairs and right out the back door. Wonder what she wanted...on the other hand, I saw the strange little ethereal kitty today.
Today, I told this girl to turn down the volume on her computer twice. The third time, I disconnected her speakers. She reconnected them as soon as I left the room. I subsequently decided to take all of the speaker cords from the computers the next time the class comes in. I told chiquita not to mess around with me in my yard. Now she may learn.
Well, Baby has decided that I need to watch young Tarzan befriend the scary Zugore (is that how you spell it?). Maybe I can think of more to write later.
