Only 15 days till graduation!!! Oh my goodness!! That is horrendously scary. I really hope I get some word back soon about whether I've been accepted to those other grad programs, or else I just might panic at the thought of "real life" looming just around the bend.
Aside from the fact that I do still have some minor projects left to do (my criminal procedure paper and legal writing portfolio, both due at the end of April), school's really downhill from here. Us third-years have begun the spiral of pre-graduation events, kicking off with last nights "senior dinner" hosted by alumni to honor us, the third-years. The speaker, the professor whom our class voted as "Most Distinguished Faculty Member", was fairly funny last night, his speech consisting mostly of making fun of the other professors.
Next week is my favorite event, the Barrister's Brawl, where we the students make fun of ourselves and hand out "senior superlatives", including, but hardly limited to:
~ most likely to be a judge
~ most likely to be late to court
~ most likely to need a lawyer
~ most likely to sleep with a judge
~ most likely to sleep with an intern
~ most likely to tell a judge to fuck off
~ most likely to get disbarred
well, you get the picture. With over 70 superlatives up for grabs, it should be an interesting night at least.
My favorite part of graduation is that gown currently hanging up in my closet. And not just any gown; this one has purple stripes all over it. Oh yea, babee. But I friggin' earned those doctorate stripes, damn it!
I remember driving home from the dinner last night feeling all nostalgic, but now I can't remember what I was all nostalgic over. Oh well.
Everyone must congratulate amesville who shall take from me that most coveted and exalted AWLS checkbook. Carry on the tradition well, young grasshopper, and remember: the credit card machine will be the bane of your existence!!
