the real update

within reason anyway...

Hmmm.... where to begin, where to begin. At the beginning? Nah, why should we want to be logical and start at what would be the most organized place. I've never been organized before and would really hate to break that routine now.

So I switched evening shifts at the last minute with a fellow co-worker so that I could have my Wednesday evening free for other plans... how those will go yet remains to be seen. Considering I have been at work since 10 this morning and have had nothing to eat since 7 pm last night but a pack of crackers, this evening appears to be an exercise in fasting. I don't get off until 8 and don't really have anything in my apartment anyway... I'm damn hungry people! And in the library!

I finally pulled Robert Jordan's 10th installment in the Wheel of Time series off my shelf (Crossroads of Twillight) and, as much as I love and obsessed over that series (may it be completed in my lifetime) these years between new books conveniently allows me to forget that only Robert Jordan spends the first 94 pages of a book on nothing but the PROLOGUE!!!! Why do I even bother to read the prologue? I know it has absolutely nothing to do with the other 700 pages of the book. But word has it that something actually happens in this book...

So we had the auction -- long evening, though not nearly as long as in the previous years. Although not as much money was made, the set up was absolutely gorgeous. I, on the other hand, am an absolute moron and apparently cannot work a credit card machine. No idea yet if that whole mess has been worked out -- I don't want to deal with it for another 16 hours, but as the money whore of the group, it is in fact my duty ("Death is lighter than a feather, duty heavier than a mountain").

I HATE YOU $@#@$%&&^%$##% SUNTRUST BANK!!!!!! YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good, now that that's been taken care of. Just got word that I have some trial stuff due for trial practice class tomorrow I that I had forgotten about and really have no intention of doing. Boy oh boy, laryngitis has never struck at a more convenient time. Just as long as it's gone before I might have to chew someone out.

Just got back from the spring break trip to Disney World with Heather and nolens_volens. Great, great time! Except for the damn strollers. We kept getting run over by strollers! I told Heather and Susan that next time someone hit them with a stroller they should just yell loudly while falling to the ground and flailing their arms about. In soccer we call this "taking a dive." I almost took a dive, when the the lady in the motorized wheelchair plowed into the back of me, but just before I did it occurred to me that if I actually hit the ground, she might not stop, and then I would be real trouble. But what a great story it would have made:

Someone: "what the hell happened to your leg?"
me: "dude, I got run over by a wheelchair at Disney World!"

Word to the wise, when the ride informs you at least 50 times not to get on if you're prone to motion sickness, please believe them. They mean it.

Got to ride twice this weekend with elvinborn and had a lovely time doing it. Both days were pleasantly warm, yet no rain on Sunday... did you notice that elvinborn?

Back to school again. Gotta work more hours this month to make up for the damage done to my bank account over spring break.

Ren Fest soon!! Ren Fest soon!! Will I go opening weekend? Don't know. I might just randomly show up, just to keep some people on their toes.

nolens_volens and amesville are usually in the library at this time, but I have seen neither hide nor hair of them. Sadness... ::sniff, sniff:: My computer is being evil again, and in attempts to further stave off severe boredom at work (since I've quite doing homework just on general principle) I've downloaded both aim and yahoo!messenger onto the circ desk's computer. Of course, that only helps me once a week, and tonight for only one more hour, but whatever. Perhaps I should install them on the tax floor computer, since I bum off there more than here.

Must. Turn. In. Grad. School. Applications.

Must also call jess79 tonight! I need advice, honey!! And maybe just a shoulder to cry on. And maybe a milkshake from The Grill... All hail Fryhenge!!! Did we ever tell you about "Bonsabi"?

Man, I have to take a grammar exam for my advanced legal writing certificate program. WTF?? If I knew proper grammar I would have been an English major, not a French-y person. The only grammar I know is in French!! Speaking of which, I got to speak some French with some actual real French people at Epcot... it was so much fun to be reminded that I can still carry on a conversation and be understood.

sekrit message to aurora -- I borrowed a short story by Robin Hobb from elvinborn and will be sure to rave about it when I finish. Just so you know you are likely to have a new convert.

Oooo... Lawson competition (oral argument competition for first years) must have begun today, 'cause all these first years are wandering around the library all spiffy in suits and stuff. Good luck to nolens_volens and amesville! ::bangs head against desk:: "Dear Lord, please let me get back into grad school... I cannot live my life in a suit!!"

Oh goodness. This just happened: I was pulling a cd for a second-year (evidence stuff) and dropped it on the ground, and the guy actually said "whoopsie daisy"!! Just like in Knotting Hill. How funny!!!!!

Leave me alone and let me update my journal people!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and remember that Ethics Exam I had to take before I could be allowed to sit for the Bar Exam in July? Well, I think I passed. I mean, I got the score back and everything, and it was above the average, so I'm fairly certain I passed, but I don't really know for sure. Above average doesn't necessarily mean passing, but they wouldn't say what passing actually was...

You realize I have been updating this for over an hour and a half now.

Alright, the madness just has got to stop!!
