Back to work
Well, I went in to my new office yesterday for the first time. I left with a good impression. I feel like I'll be working with some good people. I think this will be a rewarding tour for me. I'm still waiting to get all of my stuff, plus the mover guy driving the truck with stuff across country called me and warned me that my 50" big screen DLP TV is totally busted. That makes me very sad. Fortunately the Navy gives you full replacement value these days for the stuff that the moving company breaks, which they will do. They used to give you a depreciated value for it but that was such a ripoff. So now I can go get myself a new TV and the Navy will pay for it. Eventually. They try to save themselves money by making the claims process a ridiculous maze of submitting paperwork and talking to "customer service" people who clearly hate your guts for no reason other than the fact that you had the audacity to call and try to get your money back for all of the stuff the idiot movers destroyed. Oh well. At least I get a brand spankin' new TV.
