For a town that is, effectively, the major industrial center on Gaia, it's should come as hardly a surprise that the stars are remarkably hard to see, even on the Plate itself. Of course, given that the days can be downright smoggy on the best of days this should hardly be a surprise ( Read more... )

Even if they answer his questions, he may never actually understand - he's not always great with people.

As for the Unseen Follower trick, he manages to keep it from bothering him, if only for a rather brief period of time. And then he'll be moving closer to the light of the streetlights, looking back over his shoulder periodically as if he's looking for a shadow, or anything else to tell him there's a perfectly logical reason to this phenomenon.

Oh, he probably knows about that. And may be using that to his advantage. Or he may just be a scared little man trying to outrun his fears.

The sudden quietness startles him, and worries him a bit, but he doesn't think to call a cab - no need, right?

Well that's annoying. Not entirely surprising all things considered, but still annoying nonetheless.

Needless to say, there's a slight bit of hesitation before he steps into the unlit spot. Nothing to worry about, just an electrical error or a burnt-out bulb.

It shouldn't indeed. How unusual. Something is not at all right here, and he owes to himself to find out the scientific proof behind it all - even if it does have him wary and close to jumpy.

And he does indeed walk right into the vines, an unknowing soul walking right into the trap in the name of science.

Well, he'll do the first at least - stopping at the coldness, and trying to figure out the reason for the out-of-season chill. And in doing so he'll be spotting that twining darkness rising up behind him. Sadly, he'll be a little too busy trying to figure out the cause for this phenomenon to actually run, like he would otherwise.

Rather unsurprisingly, sleep he does - he hasn't got anything to stop him from succumbing after all, eyes sliding shut as he all but collapses in the street, fast asleep.

While she'll find neither materia nor weapons on his person (he's not a fighter, after all), she will find some notes in one of his pocket - something about 'materia fusion' it would seem. But past that, nothing of any sort of use.

As for comparing him to Sephiroth? There's little to nothing to indicate that Hojo might be his father, if one didn't already know. Of course, this might well be for the better, all things considered - at least as far as ShinRa was concerned.

And indeed, it isn't long at all before his stirring to wakefulness - and promptly wondering where exactly he is. After all, this looks nothing like Midgar, and he shouldn't have fallen asleep so suddenly either.

The fact that his notes have somehow migrated out of his pocket only serves to make him twitchier. Can has going to pick up his notes?
