Political prisoners in Belarus

Since the beginning of the presidential election campaign in May of 2020, the number of political prisoners in Belarus has increased from three to 94.
It should be noted that only those charged with criminal offences are recognized as political prisoners. At the same time, media and the Human rights Center "Viasna" recorded numerous cases of mass detentions (Nasha Niva counted at least 13,210 detentions as of September 28) and administrative charges (the database of the Human Rights Center "Viasna" as of September 30, contains records of 2,082 arrests and 1,280 of imposed fines totaling more than 23,000 basic units (an equivalent of roughly $240,000 at the current exchange rate)).
