That is...

Quite poetic.

Perhaps it is.

Poetry is oftentimes a reflection of one's soul.

Yes, I have often heard that...

It is simply rare to find one who is willing to truly express themselves through it.

Then you seem to have a shortage of minstrels. That is all I am.

It is true that poetry can exist to express, but it can also exist as a smokescreen, as well.

Not that I think that yours does, mind you.

A smokescreen. Yes. I suppose that is correct. It would be a safe assumption for anyone to make. Or a logical one at the very least.

So what do you truly think of my 'poetic' wording then? If not a silkscreen, of course.

I am sorry. I did not mean any disrespect.

It...

It sounds almost melancholic in tone. Mayhap wistful.

You didn't.

Melancholic. I suppose Rydia would say the same on both accounts. You are an insightful woman.

I am glad.

Rydia?

I...I am not really. I simply...

Miss Rydia. Lady Rydia. A... girlfriend? very close friend of mine. She tends to say many things of that nature to me.

Are you always this articulate?

Ahh...I have not met Lady Rydia, but she seems a very thoughtful person.

I...in my own world it was difficult to express myself clearly. A good friend of mine hath encouraged me to speak my mind, however. At times, it is still difficult.

She is something of that sort. She is a good woman. Worthy of all of the praise she would be offered.

If you were in such a way where you came from, then it would not surprise me that you would be the same in a place where you were not comfortable. You can only do what you can do. Progression cannot be made when you are forced, so do so at your own pace.

You seem to care for her very much.

Yes. The important thing is that progression is made at all, even if it is only a little.

...Yes. You could say that. I would willingly admit to it.

You are entirely accurate. Every little step leads to something a little larger.

She is very lucky to have a good friend like you, Ser.

And as the little things start to pile, before you know it, you have crossed an entire mountain rather than a range of stones.

...I am more fortunate to have her in my life. She would easily cope with or without me.

That is a very good way to put it. More people should understand that. Unfortunately, they don't.
