- how it works -
Each guild may "send" up to five patrons for the tournament. Each patron must bring with them a theme: each theme registered must somehow relate to heroism, technical or interpretative or otherwise. Some examples of heroic technical themes would include light, or gold. If you wish to use tropes, that's possible too, and individual participants can choose to interpret it technically or interpretatively. If your theme is a bit uncommon (especially if it is a trope), we would appreciate a short writeup--one or two sentences, or a link, just to help other folks if they have questions.
During the battle preparation period (one month), patrons may choose up to four (4) heroic champions -- from any fandom or media, of any gender, and make icons according to the registered themes. While themes will have to be unique per patron, champions will not be regulated as such. We'll just pretend they have clones. Or brothers and sisters very like themselves. Or something of that sort.
You can choose to make all icons of one character, or split it evenly across all four, or any mix you wish, as long as it's a maximum of four characters for your icons. The total number of icons to make will depend on the number of patrons across the tournament.
You do not need to produce all hero-class icons for this battle. Icons may include other characters, may be blends or blocking or animation, but at least 50% of the icon (technically or thematically) must be focused on your chosen character(s). For example, your character talking to someone face to face and both are taking up roughly the same area in your icon is fine. Another character with their back turned taking up 70% of the space of your icon, while looking longingly at your character who is visible and recognizable (even to those who don't follow the fandom) is also fine (from a thematic standpoint). An icon of your character's hand helping out another character who takes up most of the space, however, is not acceptable.
There is no requirement to send all five patrons, and no requirement for any guild to participate, but we do hope you all join our friendly tournament. :)
Once the registration period is over, comments to this entry will be screened. Once done with their icons, patrons are to submit their icons in a comment to this entry. Submission templates will come up when registration closes.

Themes will be first-come-first served, so if someone else from another guild has chosen your theme and they have submitted before you, I will contact you and ask that you change [some of] your themes.
Please do not share who your characters are just yet :3 let's keep it secret until the reveal! Or, well, I suppose you can talk about it in Other Places while anonymous or something, but wouldn't it be interesting to see if anyone else chose your character, and who chose what? :)
