*has just checked the mail and is sitting in the parlor, opening a rather important looking letter addressed to himself; reads the contents... and reads them again... and again, jaw dropping; clutching the letter between his shaking hands, calling out tentatively to anyone that might be around the house at that moment* G-guys..?!

*wandering around trying to compose a letter to Rachel in his head, takes a moment to realize he did hear Ed say something and walk back down the hallway towards him* Sup?

*near throws the letter at Mal, grinning like an idiot and dancing around* Read it, read it, read it~!

*snatches the paper from the air, a bemused smile dawning on his face, the excitement contagious even before he reads it* You've just won the lottery? *guesses, then turns his red eyes towards the paper; reads rather slowly, but then exclaims* Oh that is hard-fuckingcore! This is for those clockwork things, right?! Aw, man, cool! Congrats!

Isn't it~?! *takes back the letter, hugging it to his chest and kind of doing a short, twirling dance with it* I cannot believe someone wants to feature ME! At a gallery! A real live gallery!

*thinks privately that the dance is hilarious but manages to hold in a laugh* Do you know where it is? When did it say it opened? I should bring everyone from work, they'd love it...

It's downtown somewhere... Hang on a sec. *looks down at the paper because in his excitement he hadn't even bothered to look at the address* ...Yeah, it's downtown. *big, silly grin* It doesn't say when; they want to meet with me as soon as possible and see what sorts of pieces I can come up with for it. I just... damn.

*holds up his hand for a belated but enthusiastic high-five* That's fuckin' awesome, man. Seriously, congrats. You deserve it.

*pauses a second, not really sure what that means because he hasn't really high-fived someone before; gets it after a second and smacks their palms together* Thank you~ *quite pleased with himself, and it shows*

*also amused by the confusion with the high-five but doesn't show it other than a small widening of his smile* So you're gonna make new things for the gallery, or use some of the stuff you've already made, or what?

I'm... Well, I'm actually not sure yet. *blinks* I don't know how this gallery thing works; they might have me make new pieces for it or else I can use old ones. ...I'll probably have to make new pieces anyway. The only old one I have around is the one I showed you, Munich.

But that one is so cool! How long does it take you to make them? *just realizing an option, almost bouncing with excitement* Hey, man, can I watch when you're working on one? I mean, is it like - do you have to be alone? I get it if you do, it's art and all, but- *wants to see him making one OMG*

It depends on how complex it is. Munich took me a couple of days, but there were some smaller parts that took me only a few hours. *laughs, blushing brightly* You can watch if you want. I've never had an audience before, but... why the hell not?

*griiin* Aw, thanks man! You're the best. *can't wait* My brother used to love clocks for a while. He would take them apart and try to figure out what made them run but- *soft snicker* He was terrible with them, he could never get them back together right. He just ended up ruining a shitload of crappy second-hand watches.

*laughs* Well, I've done my own fair share of ruining things. I just, you know, don't tell people about them. Besides which, you just heard nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Heard what? *with an air of incredibly fake innocence; then whispers* Ah, well, I suppose that's like the 500 failed half-songs I've written that no one will ever, ever hear.

...It must be an artist thing, then. *grins* At least your songs can't explode. I nearly had a gear take out my eye once. It was not pretty.
