he thinks ‘fragility. spun-sugar. coloured glass.’ her skin is luminescent, her wrist small and twisting in his hand. strands of her hair are sticking to his chest, the tips of her fingers staining him with purple dye. he thinks he can see through her, but she curves at the edges, rounder, and things are wavy and distorted. ‘harder’ she’ll urge him, mocking him with her full dark mouth, leaving trails of sickly-sweet sugar across his inner thighs. and he will, forcing her still to keep from shattering, ignoring the things that shouldn’t be visible. blue eyes. insubstantial as glass.
