doing 55 down route one in north philly i ran over a big chunk of metal which shredded one of my tires.
i didnt know at first what i hit, but i knew right away a tire was farked. pulled over, and a tow truck came by a minute later and had picked it up. a big chunk that had the word "septa" on it. basically something off a metro bus.
so that was a fun way to spend my lunch today. replacing a tire in 98 degree heat.
i dont think i've had to replace a tire in like 10 years. the last time i did it was in the middle of a nature preserve in northern wisconsin. what was memorable about that was the fact that once it was done i saw a family of bears a half mile down the road. i traveled that road probably a hundred times over a couple years and never saw one again.

on a totally unrelated note i'm missing a whole bunch of people right now. between travel and arguments.. well everything is one thing or another.
on the bright side work is really good. there's a new person in the office that's brightening my day.
