ACTION WITNESSES
Starting at the end of any story is a good way to start Chapter One. Plus starting Chapter One at the end of any story is a good way to start Chapter Two, the beginning.
A boy turns around while at a Bank, as a customer. He hears yells to his surprise and lowers his head at the sight of a gunman using another man as a shield from a security guard. He shouts his innocence to the security in the building during a failed robbery attempt. It appears that he believes he is innocent, but the dialogue established in Chapter One, is only the first half of his declarations, whereas the second half, which state his innocence to the rest of the people in the building, as explained in detail in the last Chapter to make the story more dramatic.
So, the Boy is a Witness to a robbery. Then halt! The flashback. The audience is familiar with the face of the witness from chapter One. Jarring camera techniques and hasty blocking make it hard for the audience to recognize the new face starting off the flashback, when it is actually the gunman from Chapter One.
The man in Chapter Two is performing work duties at a very large and expensive house. He is an electrician. He does not know that his employer, the owner of the estate, is a very powerful and dangerous drug dealer. He minds his business, and is prepared to stay out of the later attending guests way that he is warned about, for a party being held on the property.
[[[All follows the perspective of the worker, not the spy. For the effect and WTF perspective of...the Witness]]]
While working, a government spy ambushes him and ties him to a chair in the garage. The spy uses his work uniform and security clearance to enter the mansion where he later changes into a tuxedo, where he will no doubt blend in with the party crowd.
By the time that the worker is able to untie himself, there is a large explosion on the property. The man pushes open the door of the garage and witnesses the spy dashing from the scene. Guards are firing weapons at him from a columned balcony as he escapes in an exotic sports car. Explosive charges detonate from within the house, and the guards are expelled from the exploding balcony. The marble columns burst and wood splinters are sent flying through the night air as the car smashes through the front gate and the spy escapes.
The following chapter is the worker returning to his home, more concerned about the gash on his head than the loss of his job. He checks himself into a hospital and his treated for a mild concussion. During his overnight stay at the hospital, he wanders to get himself some refreshments. As he rounds a dark corner, he gets to be the witness to another random incident.
Some poor man is already suffering from massive bodily harm when a suspicious looking man stands over him to finish the job. The man injects poison into a life tube and hushes the patient to the next life with a firm hand over his mouth. Just as the job is nearing its completion, the assassin looks up and spots the eavesdropper. He retreats to his hospital bed hoping the man will not be able to hunt him down as well, making the count 2 for the deadly night nurse. He makes it to his bed safely and undetected. The man passes him by.
The man witnesses a handful of other crazy and unbelievable incidents that would only happen in action movies. Eventually, he visits a bank, and no longer wants to be another Witness. He actually prevents a bank robbery from happening and disarms the gunman, only to be confused as the real gunman by almost everyone else.
While he is trying to make his escape, still using a man as a human shield, a dozen police cars arrive and are pointing an armada of gun power at his back.
It is important to create a slow-motion connection between the two witnesses, one-the hospitalized worker who has one bad day(s), and two-the boy from the bank who tries to make an attempt to save an innocent man’s life. Their eyes meet as cops rush in slow-motion as well to make a difficult decision. The boy’s voice is heard and the police back down. The real criminal has unmasked himself during the confusion and is blending in with the other bank customers that have taken upon themselves to lie down on the floor and coincidentally miss the real robbers bold move. The cops take everyone outside and make sure that the real crook doesn’t escape this time.
The boy can barely remember what he saw. He has to think hard about what he just WITNESSED, but he remember s one small clue, a detail that sets one man free from having the worst day(s) ever.
[[[The boy has simultaneous accounts where he witnesses sex, high school fights, drug deals, etc.]]]
