Day One : Enter the states, Boston
Being me, I couldn't fall asleep. I mean, come on...I usually sleep from three to four AM. Anywho, so I woke up at 4:00 AM, getting two and a half hours of sleep. At least I was successful enough to fall asleep by 1:30 AM.
So I get to my aunt and uncle's house and start playing my MP3 player...and BOOM! It dies. Well, actually, the batteries ran out? The thing is, you don't USE batteries. You just recharge it by plugging it into the stupid USB port to charge it. I got so mad at myself for not checking that out before...it was COMPLETELY my own fault. Lack of music for more than two days kills. Especially when trapped in a bus.
Anywho, it was a long trip and I couldn't freaking sleep! I guess I was still mentally awake...you know, being my first time leaving the country and such.
So they put on a Korean movie. Unfortunately for me, I've already seen it. At least I still got some laughs out of it. I closed my eyes throughout some Mr. Bean tape, but I got frustrated because I still couldn't sleep.
Boston was so cool! I mean, the tour guide warned us in advance about how weird the roads were...and how easy it would be to get lost. Yeah, so I stuck with my dad, aunt, uncle, etc. I love their seafood! Well, at the moment I can only think of the lobster. Which was good. *yum* Not much time to shop (as I expected), but at least I got to walk around. I was disappointed in not seeing the peach spray in Bath And Body Works. I also refrained from going into AE (and other stores that were luring me) so that I would go into stores that they would want to go to. Although, expensive jewelery, Coach, and Banana Republic aren't really me. Well, Banana Republic had a sale...but it's not my style. Though, my aunt bought capris for my cousin. Which were actually nice. But me ish le short. So...*runs away*
We stayed at Crowne Plaza. There was a pool, but I didn't bring a bathing suit. I liked the vending machines, which sold chips and drinks, but also stuff like razors, deoderant, condoms, advil, and panty hose! I have no idea why I was so intrigued. But I was. Anywho, my dad took a shower. When he finished, I walked in. We stared at the tub. See, for some reason, the water from his shower was draining a little too slow. In fact, it was still draining by morning. Hahahhahahahah. Anyways, I showered next door (aka my aunt and uncle's; yay for connected rooms). ANYWHO, they went to the bar downstairs, but I'm like...NOT 21!! So I walked around like a lunatic. Then I called Lisa on the payphone. Strangely, she couldn't hear me! She thought it was like..a prank call. Well...that was a waste of 50 cents, lol. Well, at least I text messaged her to explain, hehe.
I couldn't sleep that night. You know...I sleep between three and four. Plus, it wasn't home! First night so far away.
Day Two : New York City
I had four hours of sleep.
Okay, New York was a huge disappointment for me. See, we were on the bus. Touring ON the bus. The tour guide just pointed and talked. We passed by so many cool places (ie. The Donald Trump Tower..or something). I was attracted the the huge H&M, Macy's, and well..everything. MMmmmmMM...5th Avenue... *ahem* Anywho, we went to a museum called Intrepid that displayed...planes and such? They were kind of cool. Then we went on a cruise-ish thing where we got a tour on a...well, boat. It was really nice out and I was surprised I didn't puke. I mean, the ship WAS pretty damned...um...shifty. From side to side.
SHOPPING TIME! *Jlu has her hopes up at this time, from the touring* We get dropped off at ...49th St? I don't know. Well, you know...when you have FORTY minutes where there are A MILLION PEOPLE squashed together, you walk slow. You know what else? You strain to not lose the people you're with. Plus, I didn't see any cool stores. I mean, I saw some chocolate hershey store thing. But I wasn't gonna drag them into that store. I noticed a lot of stores that just plain advertised New York. Anyways, I only recognized like...Footlocker and Billabong. Or at least, they're the only stores that are stuck in my brain. I wanted to go awe over shoes at Footlocker. I saw shox. I walk closer. By that time, my aunt had already looked at a shoe. Then they were leaving. SO...uh, yes. Anyways, then we walked the opposite direction. But you know what? Time was basically up anyways.
So I didn't really buy anything. I was busy being mad and disappointed and getting all worked up. >=[ But I'm over it. I've learned awhile ago that you shouldn't dwell over these things. But I'll save that serious kind of stuff for...private posts, lol. Anyways...buffet...bah.
We checked in at Sheraton. Mini Pantene shampoo and conditioner!! Anyways, the vending machines didn't have the cool stuff like Crowne Plaza, but the hotels were pretty similar (to me anyway). There were GAMES!! Yay for arcades. Though, here's the thing. I don't play games. Haha. Not arcade ones anyway. But I played some driving thing (in which, I COMPLETED the course...as last place. LoL. I'd make a terrible driver. *sigh*) Then a fighting game, which was more fun since I was better at that. There was a jacuzzi! Of course, I didn't go there. They also had a cool gift shop. But I didn't buy anything there due to my terrible mood. There was a cute New York picture frame that I now regret not buying. Anyways...yes. I COULDNT FIND THE DAMNED REMOTE IN MY ROOM. =\
Well, I slept better. I watched That 70's Show. (Thankfully that channel had good shows. Otherwise, I'd had to have gotten up many times to manually flip through the channels). I slept at...1-ish.
Day Three : Washington DC
Five hours later, I was forced to wake up. The remote was found on the floor, at the foot of my bed. COVERED BY THE BLANKETS! >=[
We basically saw monuments, memorial sites and went to museums. The museums were pretty cool actually. There was a natural history one. The gems there made me want a real gem. =) They were so very pretty...and shiny...and pretty...
Anyways, it was pretty damned hot. Plus, we walked a lot. Not to mention the fact that we've already been accustomed to staying inside the air conditioned bus for the whole day. But as much as the day was pretty interesting, we really just walked around looking at these sites.
The White House is like...not blocked off, but the sidewalks around it were...sort of blocked. Two groups of tour buses cramming onto this section that wasn't EVEN the sidewalk..my goodness! It was so crowded! I had to like...stop myself from staring at the stand selling frozen lemonade. It's hard taking pics that way. =\ The heat distracted me much. It was like...'I like burning people, so let's especially annoy that little midget in the tour group.'
Okay, that was a stupid last comment. But I'm tired and I'm too stubborn to delete it.
We had a buffet- again. Chinese buffet...very similar to the previous night. Then we checked in at...Holiday Inn! ...Well, Holiday Inn select or something like that. But they freaking had a computer! YAY!! Too bad it was wireless connection and it died on me muchos. There was also no MSN. But emailing is just as good? There was a gift shop. But it was closed. See, and we had to meet in the lobby by 5:30 latest. The gift shop would not be open. Now, I was upset. Huge regrets of getting in an ugly mood at New York, lol...and not wanting to advertise Washington DC.
Oh yeah, DC stands for District of Columbia. See? I learn! =)
Anyways, they had such a cool shower thing(hotel, not state). You could change the mode to...a skinner and harder spray. Then, you can change it again and the spray rotates in a circle over and over. It made me laugh in the shower. Or at least want to. 'Cause it was also somewhat ticklish. In a good way, of course.
Day Four : Pennsyvania, return home
Four hours later, I'm up. Got our breakfast from hotel, and took it onto the bus. We ate. We all slept after. I could only sleep for an hour. I was exhausted and I had a headache continuation from the night before.
We went to Penn's Cave. It was ...a four hour drive? I don't quite remember. It may have been two. Whatever. So anyways, the cave was pretty cool! The way things were shaped (naturally and unnaturally) looked awesome! We also saw a white deer (a live one), so that was cool. Who knew they existed?
Now, I actually bought stuff in their gift shop. Not much though..I bought this chime thingie(cause it was so adorable...even though I have nowhere to hang it...yet), a glow-in-the-dark magnet, and a pack of M&Ms. I didn't know they sold little ...rock thingies! Like, my aunt bought two amethysts. The actual..um...thing. Unshaped. Natural. I can't explain at the moment, but if I knew...I would have so bought one. For the sake of it being so cool. If I had more time, I would have also bought earrings...I noticed them closely on the way out, lol. But everyone was leaving to go onto the bus. *cries* I spent time trying to fish out a pink heart-shaped pendant. I mean, there were more than one, but it was hard finding one that was unchipped. In the end, I decided not to spend two bucks on chipped things (even if they were meant to be imperfect). See? I WASTE TIME 'CAUSE I GET DISTRACTED BY EVERYTHING!!
Oh wait. HERES the four hour drive, I believe. We went...to the Corning Museum of Glass. I don't quite remember what state it's in. But who cares! It was cool. The stuff they made out of glass were just plain amazing! I thought this thing was a painting...but it was just a picture made of glass. It was pretty huge. =\ Anyways, we saw a 10 minute show where some guy made a glass bowl! Like...just like that! Well, with his knowlege and skill. It was le cool.
I was SO distracted in the shop because well...you know how I'm attracted to shiny things? Well, glass can be shiny. Haha. At first, it was the jewelry. But then I realized I would probably not wear it. So we picked out 6 glass flowers for my mom and grandma. My aunt had the VERY LAST glass white rose which was DAMNED fucking nice. Then she let her friend buy it. Who...changed her mind. When my aunt found me and asked me, I told her to wait and looked for my dad. (I refuse to lose him in a glass shop when he's going to be paying for stuff, lol). Then I see her later and she's no longer holding the flower. It was sooo pretty. *sad face*
Anywho...we ended up with that, a glass vase that was on sale and some glass structure. With fish in it. LoL. I was tempted by the GLASS ships in the glass bottles. But come on. I live in a small house. =\ I can't buy everything. Yes...so...
LUNCH TIME. It was a buffet. Also Chinese. =\
After some movies, we end up at a store. In which, I bought my brother cologne, since I felt bad for not going into hat shops. For his stupid NY/LA cap. I don't think he likes it. But I like it. It was 46 USD! Canadian dollars would be..maybe 60. But there was no tax in that store! Yeah. I wanted a watch. Either that Roots one for 70 USD or the..other one, in which I couldn't see the price. But I felt so spoiled(because well, they spoil me. A LOT.) So I went to the fragrance section again and sniffed everything. Then I got attracte by the makeup section. I remember I wanted to get something from Clinique awhile ago. But I didn't remember what. So I ignored it. I get attracted by the watches again. Before I know it, time's up. (WHY DOES TIME PASS SO FREAKING FAST? We had like...half an hour. But they also wanted us to go to the washroom, as usual. As usual, there was a lineup for the ladies. GOODNESS!! I could have bought that stinking Roots watch. >=[)
Okay, that's basically the end of that. I'm such a loser, hahahaha. Many disappointments and stupidity. But it was still fun nonetheless. There were really nice people. =) There were laughs too. The tour guide told us stories and such. In Chinese, so ...I felt kind of bad for the Mexico family. I mean, it's gotta be hard when 98% of the bus is Asian.
Side Notes
There were damned nice cars everywhere.
There were mainly families on the tour. Not just old people. I don't even remember THAT many old people, though there were some.
There were people from France and California.
There was the most ADORABLE grandmother ever. She always had a smile on her face and she was just...so happy! My goodness, she was cute! =) I mean, it's hell in the washroom. There's always a freaking line! As I leave my stall, she walks to enter it, and she's smiling at me! Anyways. In conclusion, she is cute. With lots of energy. It's funny because for the Penn's Cave thingie, she was more energetic than us walking up and down the steep hill. Hehe.
There was this really cute, cute, CUTE 5 year old boy. Whenever the tour guide asked questions, he would answer. Despite whether or not he knew the answer. Sometimes though, he'd be right. He seemed actually interested in the stuff as well, which was GOOD. Anyways, he was so little and I wanted to squeeze his cheeks. That's how adorable he was!
There was a 15 year old girl from France. I don't know why I noticed her. Maybe it's because she smiles a lot. Like, I turn my head and she does too, and then, she just smiles. LoL. She's kind of small too. Not too small. I can't tell who's taller 'cause I wore high sandals the whole time. I found her kind of cute. Strangely, my dad said someone said we looked alike (the girl and I, not my dad and I). I don't see a ressemblance, lol. But whatever. It was probably because our purses were similar. It's just that...hers was dark gray while mine was black, she had pink lining while I had gray...and I had the words PUMA written on it, while she had a Roxy logo on it. Same shape, same size. LoL. ANYWAYS...
There was a Mexican family too! The mother was very...sweet looking. She smiled a lot too, lol. I tend to like people who smile. =) I held the door for people in the hotel. I didn't mind or anything. They walked through and said thanks, and so forth. But when she got there, SHE smiled and held the door for me! Anyways, yes. Very sweet people. Je les adore.
I'm sorry, I'm overly exhausted. I've been distracted since I've started typing, but after a million years (it's 3AM), I'm done. I'm also sleepy. Did anyone notice my lack of sleep? I mean, I had SLEEP. But that's highly insufficient. I'm supposed to spend tomorrow cathing up on my Chinese TV series. So I shall go and...sleep! I apologize for any pointlessness in this entry, lol. =) Goodnight!
